COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Robe brune opaque, quelques reflets rouges.

Tasted from a bottle at Horeca Expo Ghent. Belgian-inspired strong beer with light beige, stable, moussy head and dark wine red colour, misty. Pleasant aroma of figs, banana, port wine, caramel, cinnamon, overripe plums and pears, citrus peel. Sweet fruity, thick and rich taste, banana, marzipan, chocolate and caramel, citrus touch, retronasal spiciness (cinnamon), fluffy and full mouthfeel, yeasty, medium long finish with peppery hops and some warming alcohol. Very well balanced and excellent.

On tap at the Greenville beer festival, this pour hazy caramel with a nice ring of suds that leave sparse lacing. Sweet malt and honey to the nose. Sweet honey and melon upfront, with a nicely balanced malt finish. Smooth with soft carbonation, a dessert beer lover's delight. ABV perfectly hidden. Delicious!!

Thanks to Kurt E. for the suggestion and thanks to Steven W. for sharing. Brown pour with big (really big) dense pillowy brown head. Aroma is very Belgian with caramel, chocolate, allspice and lightly roasted malt. Vary malty taste up front, just the right amount of bitterness to balance the malt. Belgian spicy yeasty flavors. Creamy malt finish with a hint of spice. ABV is not hidden but not overpowering.... OK, not going to drive a car right now though.

Very fizzy, almost has the appearance of a quad. Honey is evident along with dark fruit flavors. Some background sweetness, but subdued. Decent.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Lightly hazy, copper colour. Thin, tight, lasting, sticky, tan head. Dried fruit. Fresh, ripe plum. Light caramel. Light toffee. Some milky chocolate. Fruity, zesty orange on the back end. Taste is light sweet. Woody dry. Soft, lightly chewy, creamy palate. Finish gets spicy, dry, and now is when any honey becomes evident. Light bitter close. Very nice.

Aroma is apple, plum, Belgian candy sugar and rich sweet malts. Taste is again sweet roasted malts, dark fruits and light yeast notes. Slight bitter tang at finish but generally pretty smooth. Appearance is a very dark cloudy amber with a very nice medium pearl head that retains quite well.

Sampled at Northgate Tasting. Some serious carbonation problems with all of these bottles. SUPER carbonated, overflowing the sample cup and exploding in mouth. Not sure if a bad batch, but all of the bottles being sampled were like this.
