COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

3/18/2009: Brooklyn Local 2 has a funky, sweat-like aroma. Luckily that subsides and becomes dry with weak chocolate notes. The flavor is complex and interesting with some slightly roasty cocoa nibs in the front. It also has dark fruits, a decent caramel presence, some sweet dark sugars in the middle, and a dry alcoholic and spicy finish. There is a only mild to moderate sweetness considering the amount of sugar in this beer. It is light and well-carbonated (effervescent) with an airy palate. Let it sit a bit to let some of the carbonation escape and settle down and this beer goes from really good to quite excellent. More of the dark brown sugar, a nice caramel malt characteristic, and hint of weak coffee all come out. I was skeptical of this beer at first, but I turned out to be very pleased with the beer. It is quite good now and will probably be awesome in 6 months to 1 year from now. I really need to grab a bottle of this to put down until then!

750 ml bottle. Pours dark brown with a long lasting off-white head and a lot of lacing. Yeasty aroma follows by chocolate, dark fruit and hints of hops. Body is full and smooth. Chocolate, dark fruit spices, Belgium yeast, brown sugar, earthy hops fill the mouth. Finish is long and very spicy. Complex, delicious brew.

From 0.75l bottle @ Ølfestival København 2012. This is a near clear dark copper beer. It has a big and almost fluffy off-white head that sticks around. Not to extreme on the aroma, some caramel, branches, cocoa beans, yeast and alcohol. Average carbonated and it has a oily texture. Light sweet flavors, I get flowers, dark caramel - the kinda sticky one with some chocolate paper near the finish. Tasty and not bad at all! Liked this one 10.05.2012

Pours a very dark brown with a light brown head. Aroma is sweet malt, caramel, toffee, dark fruits with hints of yeast and alcohol. Taste is also sweet malt with fruit, caramel and toffee leading to sweet fruity and yeasty finish. Very nice, a bit better than the Local 1 I think.

This is a bit heavy on the palate, with the sweetness you expect from a Belgian style ale. Good floral aroma and has a moderate amount of head. It’s a little cloudy, but that’s expected.
