COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Here in Brooklyn we’ve combined European malt and hops, Belgian dark sugar, and raw wildflower honey from a New York family farm to create Brooklyn Local 2. Our special Belgian yeast adds hints of spice to the dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate flavors. After 100% bottle re-fermentation, this ale reveals a marvelous dry complexity, enjoyable by itself or at the dinner table.

Bottle... Hazy ruby ale with a mid-sized, creamy, off-white head. Great retention. The aroma wafts spicy phenols, tropical-starchy esters, chocolate, dark fruits and banana. Full-bodied and creamy with moderate carbonation. The flavor offers sweet chocolate and banana with lesser essences of Belgian spice, dark fruits and dark malts. Thoughtfully bittered. Finishes malty, fruity and minerally with a lightly bitter aftertaste.

Had to get this one after having the chocolate stout. Smelled sweet and yeasty, with lots of citrus and honey-oat. The taste was delicate and complex, mostly of sweet malts and biscuits. Finished mellow and a tad dry - simply another good job by the Brooklyn brewery.

With a light semi-sweet malty flavor as it is sipped and leaves a slight bitter after taste. Enjoyable in the fall/winter time with or without something to eat. An especially foamy head tops off this tasty ale

This was a very nice BSA with a good dark color and nice amount of head that lasted very long. Taste was sweet candies and honey, good warmth.

Shared bottle at local tasting, thanks to Sigmund. Pours dark amber/brown with a small tanned head. Spice and yeast in the aroma. Taste is moderate sweet malty, well hidden alcohol.

750 ml "champagne"-corked bottle, shared at local tasting, thanks to Sigrid S. ABV is 9%. Brown colour, large off-white head. Sweetish aroma, some stale notes, not impressive. Medium sweet flavour, fruity, some stale notes again, a bit disappointing.

A mahogany colored brew, nice head, smooth carbonation with sheets of lacing that run down my glass and rejoin the brew. Smell is really nice, sweet dark fruits, yeast, spices, caramel malts, a little chocolate. Taste is very spot on for what I expected. Great spiciness, plenty of dark and mid fruit flavors, nicely yeasty, quite sweet yet strangely dry all at the same time. Downright delicious. Feel is medium bodied with smooth carbonation, a lightly bitter, fruity aftertaste lingers. Drink is good. I like this beer. For my first try of this brewery, I certainly want to try Brooklyn’s other offerings too.

Wow, I’m pleasantly surprised by this remarkable beer. Theres lots going on after the beer is poured. It produces a nice thick creamy foam that lasts with lovely lacing down the glass. The aromas are rich and typically belgian however the alcohol is well hidden. The flavour profile is complex, it tastes of figs, rich raisins, notes of bitter chocolate and some residual dextrin sweetness. Its quite a well balanced beer that finishes moreish and slightly dry....overall well done.
