3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 15/20
One of the few beers I am rating from GABF. Pours and amber and really does taste more like a cocktail then a beer. i get cherries and malt, it kind a sweet and watery mouthfeel for my taste. actually wasn’t crazy about this creation.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled @ GABF! Nice chestnut pour with a soapy eggshell head. Aroma of fruit and nuts accompanied by rye and spice. Flavor shows caramel, tart cherry skin, and rye. Medium mouthfeel. Interesting but not a favorite. Glad I had a chance to try this one.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Sampled at GABF on 9/16/2010. This rye beer pours a medium brown color from the bottle. Small to medium sized white foamy head. The aroma is fruity and sweet, rye and juniper berries. A medium bodied rye beer. The malts are fruity and sweet, hints of juniper, perhaps a touch of vermouth and bourbon. The hops are herbal. Nice balance. Lots of different flavors here. Very smooth tasting. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Had this on tap at the House of Beer in Orlando.
Appearance: The beer was a nice amber, brown color with an off white head which dissapated quickly. Lacing was present throughout.
Smell: WOW! Very interesting aroma of cherries and spice. A lot going on in this beer.
Taste: Again WOW! A lot going on in this brew. Picked up cherries, interesting spices and maybe caramel? Nothing rye about this ale at all. Very malty with a slight hop bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium body with medium carbonation.
Overall: Insanely good! Really glad I was able to try this brew!

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
(Old BA rate - tap)
Poured with a finger of khaki, dense head; good retention and curtain lacing; light burnt brown color that had some reddish tone as well. Piney hops at first; rye; sweet maltiness; dark fruits; alcohol is masked pretty well but a hint is there; cherries in the end of the aroma. Sweetish passion fruits; pine-lacquer hoppiness; sweeter maltiness; but a very dry, bready finish. Medium and creamy; subtle carbonation. Nice sipping brew, and it’s very tempting to take down quickly...nice stuff. An interesting brew conceptually and in the delivery, well done.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
This draft brew from a beer bar poured a medium sized head of foamy finely sized tan colored bubbles that were mostly diminishing and left behind a no visible carbonation dark brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was spicy and herb. The mouth feel was tingly at the start and strongly tingly at the finish with a lingering herbal aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of spices herbal cloves and cinnamon. An OK brew just nothing special.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft: Poured a dark reddish brown with a minimal head. The aroma was sweet cherry and bubblegum. The flavor was earthy sweet and cherry. Overall, a sweet beer. Probably would not want to drink more than 2 but interesting non the less.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler (1 of 3) purchased at De Ciccio’s in Ardsley NY.
Appearance: Deep garnet to brown body with minimal off white crown. No retention or lace. The body is slightly radiant and attractive.
Smell: Nice notes of vermouth, cherry, lush malt, some type of spice...seems like cinnamon, bitters, etc. Lots going on here.
Taste: A touch malty up front but that quickly gives way to the spice, bitters, and vermouth. A light cherry syrup makes an appearance towards the end.
Mouthfeel: A touch under carbonated but that is probably due to the growler being a week old. As I got towards the bottom of the growler the carbonation concentration seemed to increase. The last few pours even had an off white crown and showed some lace!
Drinkability: Fairly good and probably would have been better when the brew was fresh.
Definitely pushes the envelope of what beer is. I’ll lift my glass...here’s to you Mr. Oliver! Jesus loves you more than you will know...oh wo wo wo.
Serving type: growler
