2.2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 fiulijn (10383) - Como, - DEC 9, 2009
Draught at Barcade, New York Cloudy amber color. I can’t find any point in this bold but extremely boring Ale, with nutty finish and strong bitterness.

Draft at the blind tiger. Smells like a sour fruitcake. Berries, raisins, rye, and the rittenhouse coming through. Super easy drinking sour with a slightly tarty finish with sour cherries

Draft. Pours hazy orange-ish brown with a thin head. Fruity sweet aroma with some brandy like notes. The flavor has brandy fruity notes, raisins, a woody hint, and a light hint of tartness. Solid stuff.

From the Bottle at the GABF, Colorado Convention Center Denver 17/09/2010
Floral and fruity aroma. Bronze coloured a little hazy in appearance and strong in alcohol. Initially sweet on the palate with a hint of dryness and bitterness in a lasting malt finish.

Reviewed from notes. On tap at Rustico.
Pours a reddish brown with an off white head. Nose brings a bunch of spicy rye and a bit of booze. The taste is quite zesty and really gives off the cocktail vibe. Feel is a bit dry and quite a bit of rye is noticeable. Drinks okay and it is well executed, just not sure that I really like it all that much.

Sampled at the first brewvival festival. Near clear amber pour. Tasted like a christmas beer with lots of nutmeg. I guess that could be the rye. Pretty tasty stuff actually. Hides the alcohol fairly well too.

Notes from GABF 2010. Pours a hazy reddish-brown color with a small fading whitish head. The aroma is very interesting - sweet candy, spicy rye, oak, herbs, spices, and cherries. Lots going on, and it is a little Manhattan-like. The flavor is better than any Manhattan I’ve tried. Really tasty. Somewhat sweet with cherry and vinous notes, vermouth, rye, and oak. Definitely on the sweet side, but in this case, it works. Medium-full body with average carbonation and a smooth mouthfeel. This was one hell of an interesting beer. Really unique and enjoyable.

One of the few beers I am rating from GABF. Pours and amber and really does taste more like a cocktail then a beer. i get cherries and malt, it kind a sweet and watery mouthfeel for my taste. actually wasn’t crazy about this creation.

Sampled @ GABF! Nice chestnut pour with a soapy eggshell head. Aroma of fruit and nuts accompanied by rye and spice. Flavor shows caramel, tart cherry skin, and rye. Medium mouthfeel. Interesting but not a favorite. Glad I had a chance to try this one.
