Aroma is malty with a little bit of hops and alcohohol, taste is malty as well with a nice hop finish and a slight alcohol taste that seems to have lessened with age. Still nice and warming and always good in the winter. yayforbeer (647), Orange Park, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 28, 2007 Single from Total Wine. I’ve had a pretty good run with beers lately except for the MGD. This is a really good barleywine. Sweet, floral aroma. Flavor was intense caramel and tingly, spicy hops. Nice warming alcohol burn accompanied the robust flavor. Wished for a really good cigar to go with it. Excellent winter warmer. BeerVirgin72 (778), Pataskala, Ohio, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 28, 2007 I think I am addicted to barley wines. I really enjoyed this one and am surprised at some of the low ratings...Had on draft at Brews in Granville. Sweet and very woody up front, but I thought this one was pretty well blended and perfectly enjoyable... DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel

Aroma of malt, dark fruits and quite alot of alcohol. Sweet malt flavor with caramel and fruits. Medium to full body. Nice and very enjoyable but not very complex. dkachur (2349), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA

The usual barleywine aromas with a strong hint of nuttiness. Taste is smooth and silky, but kind of falls flat at the end. Nice try. BW Fest 1 of 5. BeerBlockaid (538), Jacksonville, Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Dec 25, 2007 Nice lil barley wine Spices, nutmeg, coriander, caramel and molasses blend well with some spikey barley notes. Alcohol surfaces here and there. Wood roasted finish, and semi nutty. Ends with a fig like twist. Really well done! I think it’s time to try the others from this brewer. redlight (1457), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 19, 2007 Creamy caramel malts on the nose with hints of spicy pine. Pours a rich amber with little to no head. Malty up front, caramelly, brown sugar, with hints of a richer molasses in the background. Very good hop profile also, hints of pine with a citrusy finish, and decent bitterness to offset the big malt flavors. Alittle young, a little astringent can’t wait to try it again in a few years. f351c4v (404), Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
