Dark copper brown, steady small creamy brown head. Aroma is fruity, hoppy and has some toasted barley and caramel. Sticky liquerish palate. Medium to full-bodied, alcoholic. Barley wine roastiness, long bitter alcoholic finish. biznizness (959), Mooresville, North Carolina, USA

It was also creamy to my palate and my lips. I like this creamy beer. Also, this beer is easily drinkable for a barley wine. It does not have overwhelming alcohol or hop flavor, so it is not the typical "take one sip and wait two minutes" barley wine. Odeed (1682), Bakersfield, California, USA

Aroma of grapes, lemon and oak tones. Flavor is tones of fruit, and wood with alcohol and hops dominant in the flavor. Warming and strong. Haed is small, but tight. Strong alcohol in this one. Slightly sweet, with nice carbination and a sour/dry finish. Drinkable and quite nice. MI2CA (1266), Noblesville, Indiana, USA

Pours a dark reddish brown with a ring for head and good lacing. Flavor is caramel malt, vanilla, and oak with a touch of hops. Palate is smooth, creamy, and sticky (if it can be both smooth and sticky?). Not bad, but that rubbing alcohol smell kills it for me. original score 5/4/6/4/16=3.5
RE-RATE : Same vintage and very similar to initial rating except the rubbing alcohol smell and hops were gone. The caramel took over in both aroma and flavor. Very caramelly smooth and tasty after a few years of aging. dirkules (613), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Lots of raisins and caramel, with a brandy like quality and hints of port. Did I mention this was quite sweet, with some alcohol in the finish. Intensly rich and malty, quite a big beer. Overwhelming in relation to the other Brooklyns I’ve had.
