Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness. When Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria wanted to celebrate his wedding engagement in 1810, he did what any good Bavarian prince would--he threw a beer festival. Bothe the festival and the special beer served there became known as Oktoberfest. Brewed from the finest German malt and hops, Brooklyn Oktoberfest is true to the original style, fullbodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Poured from bottle into shaker. Pours a slightly reddish golf with 2 finger just off-white head. Aroma - biscuit and light caramel notes. Taste - lots of biscuit notes, light caramel and toffee notes and a slight spiciness. Finish is clean and fairly short.

This is a tasty Oktoberfest for sure. It is copper brown in color w/ a head o fine bubbles and a nice lattice of lace. Nutty, toasty malts dominate the nose with just a slight grassy and floral character from the hops. A touch of sweetness pops out at you up front but this serves mostly to highlight caramel notes from the malt and it never reaches the point of cloying. This is a full bodied beer with mild carbonation which, again, serves to highlight the malts. It finishes w/ just a touch of bitterness and lingering sugary malt sweetness. I honestly do not tend to look forward to drinking beers of this style every fall but this one is something of a pleasant surprise.

Aroma of sweet toffee, breads, and caramel. Brown amber with a frothy tan head. Sweet caramel malt first. Off sweeness, slightly off putting. Bitterness next, mild. Finishes with toffee flavor, and surprising revisit from sweetness. Watery texture. Average.

A rounder style Okt with balanced sweet and crisp malt profile, lean edge of hops and moderately full body. Not hop forward at all and no big lager edge.

Bottle from Harvest Market. Deep copper color with a huge bubbly off white head. Aromas of bready malt with floral hops. Rich bready maltiness, bubbly mouthfeel. Respectable stateside Oktoberfest beer.

Bottle. Archer Road Beer Stop, Sheffield. Lightly hazy copper colour. Thin, tight, dirty white head. Sugary fruits. Some ripe banana. Light caramel. Taste is sweet, with a dried fruit tang. Fairly rich, smooth palate. Finishes with more of the dried fruit sweetness. Not my favourite style, but I did enjoy this.

Bottle at home. Nose is bready, wheaty, ligtht grass. Flavor is similar, drier side of things. Grassy hops and bread. Not bad.

Pours mahogany with a bit of head. Nose is surprisingly hoppy for the style, a bready malt. Taste is very balanced hop/malt profile, some sweetness, a bit of bitterness on the end. Definitely not a traditional oktoberfest, I'm missing the german lager yeast character. Reads almost like an American amber. It's ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pours a sparkling amber color with foamy light tan head and average carbonation. Bready and biscuity sweet malty aroma. Mostly sweet malty flavor with just a subtle note of hoppiness. Medium bodied with a somewhat sweet finish. Sessionable and tasty.
