COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Bottled: Pours a lush orange amber color with a tight sticky off-white cap which lasts and laces well. Big toasty-bready aromas, herbal-woody noble undertones - authentic Marzen aroma. The body and flavour are a let-down after the promise of the wonderful aroma - a tad on the thin side for the style and the flavour (although relatively authentic with toasty Munich red malts and noble hopping) is a both thin as well and with an overly dry finish. Other than these two minor issues this is a decent craft Marzen although I prefer Sam Adams to this version.

Tap at Lazy Dog. Pours a transparent amber with a thin layer of beige head. Taste and aroma is sweet, some malts and bread.

Transfer from BA review on 10-10-12- Poured from bottle into pint glass Appearance – Pours an amber brown color with a one finger off white head. The head fades relatively fast to leave only a very light level of lacing. Smell- The aroma is a combination of sweet and roasted malt. The sweetness is of a caramel nature with the malt being of a roasted brown bread smell. Mixed with these aromas are some lighter notes of an earthy hop with hints of spice. Taste – The taste begins with a nice dose of caramel and roasted malt. As the flavor advances further some earthy hop flavors come to the tongue along with a nutty and spicy flavor. As the flavor advances to the end, the sweet dries out slightly and with a bit more earthy hop coming to the tongue, it creates a drier flavor on the tongue; in the end the beer leaves a nice crisp, yet satisfyingly sweet roasted flavor on the tongue. Mouthfeel – The body of the beer was on the thicker than average side with a decent creamy feel and a carbonation level that was rather average The creamy body was very nice for the roasted malt, nutty, and spice flavors of the brew while the carbonation level made for a good and easy drinking beer Overall – A very nice refreshing and tasty Oktoberfest. Its blend of sweet, roasty, and drinkability make it one very nice session for the season.

12 oz. bottle from backlog notes 07. Pours a clear orange/amber color with a foamy beige head. The aroma is a mix of toasted grains, caramel malt, and a hint of hops. The flavor is mainly toasted malts, light hints of caramel, some grass, and light hops. Medium bodied and easy to drink. This is a fairly average, yet clean Oktoberfest.

It had a small creamy light tan head over a deep amber colored body with good clarity. The head fades quickly but hangs on till the last slip and make for some slick lacing on the way down the mug. The aroma is sweet, candy like, with caramel notes and hint of bubble gum, toasted malt and mild hops. It has a sweet caramel toasted and bready malt with some light buttery and nutty notes. Hop flavor is mild and adds some spice and mild bitterness as well as a slight metallic touch. It has an easy drinking medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. The finish is sweet and clean.

Smooth and refreshing when cold, but pour is a cloudy dark amber with no head. Aroma is almost non-existant and the flavor is lacking.

Pours a nice amber color with off-white head. Malty, bread, caramel malt, roasted malt, all on the nose; follows onto the palate. Finishes with just a smidge of hop bite. Nice example of the style.

Coppery pour with a significant amount of foamy white head. Fruity spicy nose. Slightly bitter and a touch tart. Usually expect more boozyness from an Oktoberfest and that isn’t here. Not bad. .

(US 2012 backlogged in abstinence) 12oz bottle enjoyed straight out of the brown bagged bottle in Central Park, 09/2012. Enjoyable runny Oktoberfest with enough sweet-dough and crisp floral hops to detract from the somewhat watery, metallic base - flavours are less harmonically incorporated compared to Bavarian originals.

Reviewed from notes. The appearance had a hazy brown body that yields a small half finger white head slowly dissipates into the body after a half minute. Some spider web lacing is left. The smell had some earthy breadiness and nuts up front with some nutmeg and caramel slightly in the background. The taste had an earthy breadiness that came back a bit more up front than the other flavorings. The palate was about a light to medium with nothing harsh on the tongue. I would say this is a pretty drinkable beer. Overall, this is a pretty good beer that I would have again.
