COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness. When Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria wanted to celebrate his wedding engagement in 1810, he did what any good Bavarian prince would--he threw a beer festival. Bothe the festival and the special beer served there became known as Oktoberfest. Brewed from the finest German malt and hops, Brooklyn Oktoberfest is true to the original style, fullbodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Tap at the Brooklyn Brewery. Very nice Marzen style beer. Nice complex flavors and rich mouth feel yet easy to drink. Beautiful deep reddish brown color. Diminishing head that leaves a nice lacing around the top. Smells great and nicely roasted malts. One of my favorite Oktoberfest beers.

Pours mahogany with a bit of head. Nose is surprisingly hoppy for the style, a bready malt. Taste is very balanced hop/malt profile, some sweetness, a bit of bitterness on the end. Definitely not a traditional oktoberfest, I'm missing the german lager yeast character. Reads almost like an American amber. It's ok. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle. Pours a sparkling amber color with foamy light tan head and average carbonation. Bready and biscuity sweet malty aroma. Mostly sweet malty flavor with just a subtle note of hoppiness. Medium bodied with a somewhat sweet finish. Sessionable and tasty.

Growler from Whole Foods. Caramel colored, a bit creamy, little carbonation and a dry caramel flavor capped off by a medium long bitter finish. Decent but not outstanding for this style.

Tap. The look is clear, foamy beige colored head, and copper in color. The taste is malty, crackers, sweetness, caramel, soda, and toast. The smell is malty, bready, biscuits, caramel, ok.

Keg at The Font, Chorlton. Deep, dark copper shade and a nice head of foam. Faintly hoppy aroma. Crisp, caramelly taste, not much sweetness. A recurring jammy fruit presence lurking beneath. Mouthfeel is fairly creamy and body is strong. Nothing extraordinary but an impressive example of this style.

On draught at the sports bar in the Hilton Garden Inn in Troy, NY. Arrived a clear warm gold with a moderate white head that lasted through the first two sips and left scant lace. Pleasant aroma of malt with notes of caramel and mild toast. The flavor is very similar with malt, light caramel and mld toast. Very mild bitterness at the finish. Fairly smooth on the palate. Medium bodied.

bottle @ Chief Market / Lima OH --- Clear dark amber with a bubbly head cover, bands of lace. Taste is simple thin caramel malt gliding easily through the palate to a lightly bittered finish. Very little body, light taste for an Oktoberfest. Not one of Brooklyn’s better offerings.
