COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Very nice for style. Great grain profile and some nice and prominent German hops. Pours cloudy light brown with good head and lacing. The best one of these I’ve had this season. Tap at whole foods.

Bottle. Copper pour with 2-3 finger off white head. Aroma is lightly roasted malt. Flavors at caramel and roasted malt, bitterness is present for balance but this is essentially malty festbier.

Appearance- nice bone white head that didn’t last too long. Minimal lacing. Clear, amber, copper. Smell- clean, malty, bready. Taste- bitter, spicy (ginger), caramel, malt. Mouthfeel- medium to full body. Very crisp. Overall- good, not great. Nothing offensive, but have had better Marzens. Worth a try, but wouldn’t have again. Cheers!

I’ve had many Oktoberfest/Octoberfest/Marzen beers, and this is one of the better ones. The beer produced this year (2014), is probably the best yet from Brooklyn. Pours a gorgeous deep gold with slight copper hues. Nice, creamy head that lasts, then fades off to some nice lacing. Nice brewery fresh aroma of barley and fresh baked bread. Some decent hops in the nose as well, just right for the style. Nice soft, barley malt flavor with just enough hop bitterness, the hops being unmistakably German. Wonderfully balanced.

12oz bottle from Orchard Fresh, Orchard Park, NY. Reddish amber with a ring of cream head; bready malt aroma; sweet caramel malt taste; with a lightly spiced bitterness to finish. A pleasant October beer.

Tasted on October 17,2013. It has a bit of an ipa and bitter finish. It gets better half way through. Has taste of honey. Has a dark amber color

UPDATED: AUG 23, 2014 A decent, sweet and fruity Oktoberfest with a thick, creamy texture. Pleasant but nothing out of the ordinary.

12oz bottle shared. Poured a copper orange color with off white head. No lacing flat carbonation. Nice malty nose with bread and yeast. Flavor is very smooth with s mild bitterness from the hops on the end. Solid octoberfest beer. Nice bready flavor mixed in there.

Sorry Brooklyn, but these damn October beers have never done it for me. I know every brewery feels obligated to brew these infernal things, but it is not necessary. It is those off flavors of zest and yeast that make this thing unstable. Just knock it off with this stuff. Serving size: multi 12oz bottles.

Tap at Lazy Dog. Pours a transparent amber with a thin layer of beige head. Taste and aroma is sweet, some malts and bread.
