Brooklyn Oktoberfest was introduced in 2000. It is true to the original German style, full-bodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness. When Crown Prince Ludwig of Bavaria wanted to celebrate his wedding engagement in 1810, he did what any good Bavarian prince would--he threw a beer festival. Bothe the festival and the special beer served there became known as Oktoberfest. Brewed from the finest German malt and hops, Brooklyn Oktoberfest is true to the original style, fullbodied and malty, with a bready aroma and light, brisk hop bitterness.

Bottle. The pour was a medium brown with a slight yellow hue and an average sized (1-2 finger) frothy off-white head that lasted about half way through and had fair lacing. The aroma was of a moderate toasted bread malt, a mild floral hop and an earthy yeast with a nice note of caramel, a little nuttiness and a mild alcohol scent. The taste was ever so lightly bitter and a little acidic with a hint of caramel from the onset, then became very malty and a tad sweet with a touch of alcohol at the end. The flavor lasted an average amount of time after the swallow allowing for the bitter and the malts to blend nicely. Mouthfeel was light to medium in body and slightly dry in texture with a medium carbonation. Overall the maltiness and mild sweetness of this brew is what made this Oktoberfest stand out. A definite asset to the style.

Hazelnut. Malty. A little sour. Looks fine. Amber red. Off white head dissipates quickly. Taste is liken the smell. Lighter. Nutty. A little sour. Grape. Palate is medium with a dry finish. Pretty much the epitome of what a generic beer would taste like (which is not nessecarily a bad thing) nothing special nothing bad.

Clear copper in colour with off-white head. Nose subdued but there are notes of nutty malt. Flavour is subtle nutty, toasty malts but I prefer bolder notes. The mouthfeel is thin. Blah.
