Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

Heavy peppery aroma with a rye bread scent. Buttery and malty with plenty of noble (saaz) hops. Great pour, must be gentle in order to control the towering, fluffy head that forms. Dark gold in color with plenty of white lacing and a thick, foamy, white head. Hearty Pilsner, nice and full bodied. Spicy hop bite along with a soft creamy aftertaste. Bold flavor with a great hop presence and enough malt to create a good balance. Green and peppery hop flavors, followed by doughy bread, caramel, and pretzels. This is one rocking Pils.

Beer of the Month Club Selection: Poured from the bottle into a pint glass. Pour produced a golden brown body with a white head with no lacing. Pleasant hops aroma with some floral pine notes. Bitter with a dry, light body combined with a crisp effervescence. This pilsner has a good crispness with a dry, bitter aftertaste, along with light malting. This pilsner scores points with me for meeting it’s commercial description; and while I’m an ale person, this lager ain’t too shaby...

Brooklyn Pilsner is a clear golden color with a very nicely formed off-white head. The aroma is sweet with nice hop characteristics and a very nice malted base. The finish is very smooth and perfect with a light cigar on a temperate summer day.

Decent if not great. Hey, if it’s not in a can and doesn’t look like piss when it’s poured, aight in my book. Nice bitter finish balances nicely. Kinda dig it.

Pours light slightly cloudy golden color with faint white head. Aroma of sweet biscuit malts and some spice. Nice complex flavor of sweet and buttery bread malts and spicy hops. I’ll admit that I am impressed, haven’t had too many true pilsners but this is a good beer.
