3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 hayduke (2445) - Eureka, California, USA - DEC 21, 2009
Thanks Joe McPhee for this beer. From a 12 oz bottle this poured an attractive clear light golden color with a fluff long lasting head and good lacing. The nose is very much citrus with a variety of aromas including orange, grapefruit, and lemon. Very smooth body. Clean mouthfeel. The flavor is dominated by the citrus hops which leads to some light bitterness but the malts are there too. This is very much like a great German Pilsner, Great example of the style and imminently drinkable.

Nice deep golden color. Fluffy head. Very citrusy aroma, like orange and lemon combined. NIce smooth body, with first the citrus hop flavor, then some light - albeit maybe a bit too weak - malt flavor combining.
If I had to compare this to other beers, I’d say it’s very much like those pilsners of northern German; Hamburg to be specific.
A very good beer, and a nice choice for those who may find Brooklyn Lager a bit too heavy for their palates.

Golden pour with a frothy white head. Clean Crisp aroma is grassy with a touch of sweet honey. Mouthful is smooth, nicely lagered, with a cool honey and some light grass notes as well. Finish is clean and cool. Really refreshing and nice.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Blom (778) - Odense, DENMARK - DEC 13, 2009
Pours a yellow with a huge fluffy head. The aroma is floral and hay like, and the flavour starts out with bread-like maltiness going into a clean bitternes.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 Cole (889) - , Alberta, CANADA - NOV 12, 2009
Pours deep amber with a tall white head. Arome is very malty with a hint of Sazz aroma. Flavour is very fresh, but still a bit too malty for a pilsner. Not a bad beer but a poor pilsner in my opinion.
3.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 TheHulk (479) - Lethbridge, Alberta, CANADA - NOV 8, 2009
Very pleasant malt aroma but it could be a lot stronger. Pilsners are always pretty sad looking but this one is fairly dark and looks like it’s sun-tanned somehow. The malt flavour also has that slow burnt aroma and taste going on, its nice and slow. Hops come on quite strongly at the end, could use just a few more % to match ;) Drinking this reminds me of sitting down in the shade after a hot, dry, dusty day of intense sweating labour and drinking your first sip of I’m done working for today beer. It even has the sun burnt aroma.
