COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Pilsner is a refreshing golden lager beer, brewed in the style favored by New York’s pre-Prohibition brewers. In the 1840’s, the pilsner style emerged from central Europe to become the world’s most popular style of beer. Like its ancesters, Brooklyn Pilsner is traditionally brewed from the finest European two-row barley malts. German-grown Perle and Hallertauer hops provide a crisp, snappy bitterness and fresh, floral aroma. We ferment Brooklyn Pilsner at cool temperatures and then give it a long, gentle maturation (lagering), which results in a beer of superior complexity and smoothness.

Bottle. Aroma of german malt and some yeast (the yeast reminds me of a white beer). The flavor is pretty bitter and nasty. The malt isn’t sweet and the hops are a nasty bitter flavor (not citrus not anything good).

UPDATED: JUL 21, 2008 Bottle; looked forward to rerating this because of my previous low rating. Aroma of bread, citrus, grass, and yeast. Soft on the palate. Flavor wasn’t great; bread/malt backboone with some floral/earthy hops in the finish. Better than I remembered. 2.4 to 2.8 (Poured a ruddy yellow; medium to small white head. Aroma of bready malt, a little buttery and some yeast. Palate and body were average; flavor wasnt too great. Not much going on and ends with some rather untasty bitterness. Have had better for the style. )

pours a typical straw colour with a large, white sudsy head. Smells of hay, saaz hops, and butter. Fresh hoppy bitterness in the taste. The body is fuller than expected, which is nice. Three dimensional lacing all the way down. Effervescent carbonation is a bit spritzy.

THis beer was poured into a pint glass with a good head to it. it has a nice buttery smell to it and an yellow color to it. It is a bit spicy of a taste and has a weak after taste.

Clear golden-yellow body with a standard sudsy white head. Lightly buttery malt and yeast qualities with mild spicy aromatics. Weak, semi-dry doughy malt flavor with light diacetyl, a peppery note, and moderate bitterness. Not enough depth of malt. Brooklyn should aim higher with this.

Good color for a pils. Golden. Smells a tiny bit skunky, but most pilsners do to me. Very smooth taste with a clean piney bitterness at the end.

Golden body with minimal head. Aroma is citrusy and floral. A tad flat with a slight bitterness to the finish.

Bottle - nice, sweet and spicy aroma. Fairly standard pilsner appearance. Flavor is grainy sweetness with a slight bitterness in the finish. A fairly good example, but far from my favorite style.
