COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Radius is a saison that harks back to the days when farmhouse beers were session beers, full of flavor, but light enough that you could stick with them all day or all evening. At only 4.8% ABV, Radius is among the lightest beers we’ve ever made, but it’s packed with flavor. Our Belgian yeast strain gives complex spicy notes and some bright orange zest flavors, while Perle and Aurora hops give a zippy bitterness and a pleasant floral aroma. Radius is bone-dry, unfiltered, hoppy, and refreshing, and doesn’t put the hard whammy on us after a glass or two (okay, it’s true - we’re sometimes in the mood for the hard whammy...but not always!).

Draught @ Akkurat. Pours yellow, hazy, with a white head. Super drinkable, refreshing, yet complex! Notes of elderberries, ginger, citrus, currant seeds, orange peel, tigerbalsam and honey. Ends dry and quite bitter. True to style! Lovely, lovely beer!

(Draught at Akkurat, Stockholm, 6 May 2013) Pale yellow colour with frothy, white head. Malty, nose with notes of hay, grass, citrus and hints of spices. Malty, slightly spicy taste with bread, citrus, hints of yeast and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Refreshing and quite drinkable, but lacking some saison character. More like a kölsch-style saison. Quite nice though.

Sampled at the Raleigh Rare and Vintage Festival 2013. Clear golden pour with small ring of offwhite head. Notes of honey and lavender. And I also perceived this as "boozy" despite being not high alcohol. It must have been one of the other ingredients that was throwing me off. I thought "how is this supposed to be sessionable?".

On tap at the brewery. Pours cloudy golden with a lacy, white head. Aroma of pale malts, floral hops, and a good amount of spicy notes and light fruits. Flavor about the same, with the spiciness and fruitiness taking the background compared to the malts and hops. Average texture. A good beer for the style.

[keg at the Brooklyn Brewery] Opaque yellow pour with a slightly off-white, quick dispersing head. Musty aroma of hay, lemon and lime, floral notes, and spicy hop. Flavours followed suit. Quite a lot of lemon on the taste, with the wheaty, bready notes towards the end. Despite this, the finish is pretty clean. Good stuff [26112012]

On tap at Owl Farm during our bar crawl through Brooklyn. Pours a mostly clear gold with a thin white head. Lemongrass, soft musk, grain on the nose. Medium bodied, grainy, musk and cereal. More musk and grain throughout. A bit one dimensional and a touch bland. Still drinks well.
