COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Brooklyn Brewery is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. We are fortunate to be a part of the incredible cultural renaissance Brooklyn has enjoyed during the last quarter century. Four great Brooklyn artists whom we met along the way—Fred Tomaselli, Roxy Paine, Joe Amhrein and Elizabeth Crawford—have created special labels for our Silver Anniversary Lager beer. We are saluting our beginnings with a special doppelbock version of the Brooklyn Lager we introduced in 1988. This beer is re-fermented in the bottle and will taste great today or years from now. The original was inspired by the beers of 19th Century New York and Vienna.

Rastacouere (6153) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 3, 2013
Hazy dark amber lager covered by a frothy white head. Some mild fruity notes lay underneath a precise toasted malt mattress covered by several linens of nuances, be they almondy nuttiness, honeyed sweetness, warming alcohol vapors or leafy, herbal hops. A pretty original one, with more fruitiness than you would expect from a lager, a fairly warming, yet never burning, never cloying alcohol presence and a malt character that differs from the all-Munich strong lagers of similar color. Furthermore, the hops really do play a nice balancing role with their spicy, herbal nobility. It all makes for a balanced, agreeable offering.

hazy amber, lasting white wisps. Estery lemon nose, light pepper and grain, grass hints all over. Aggressive carbonation accents citrus and grass, bit too big and sugary through the grassy, papery end.

Location: 750 ml bottle from Buy Rite, 9/15/13

Aroma: The nose has some grassy hops, caramel, earth, fruit, and some yeast as well
Appearance: A mostly clear caramel-orange color with a frothy off-white head and plus lace
Flavor: The flavor is clean malts and some light hops, the flavor is pretty balanced
Palate: The body is medium, it has a pretty good mouthfeel, and a mildly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a solid one. I had this a few months back on draft, but the rating hasn’t made it out of the backlog, so this bottle should do the job.
