COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Brooklyn Brewery is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year. We are fortunate to be a part of the incredible cultural renaissance Brooklyn has enjoyed during the last quarter century. Four great Brooklyn artists whom we met along the way—Fred Tomaselli, Roxy Paine, Joe Amhrein and Elizabeth Crawford—have created special labels for our Silver Anniversary Lager beer. We are saluting our beginnings with a special doppelbock version of the Brooklyn Lager we introduced in 1988. This beer is re-fermented in the bottle and will taste great today or years from now. The original was inspired by the beers of 19th Century New York and Vienna.

Bottle from Vinmonopolet in Valkedorfsgate, Bergen. Pours a dark-hued clear amber body with a coppery hue and a large, creamy off-white top, looking very palatable indeed. Aroma is grape peel, raisins, grains, caramel and hints of bread crust and straw. Taste is raisins, grains, red berries and hints of bread crust and burnt sugar. Medium to full body, medium carbonation. A bit watery in its makeup for a solid doppelbock IMO, and the flavor profile is also slightly tilted in the Belgian direction which could have worked out better. Nevertheless, a pretty nice and drinkable anniversary lager from Brooklyn.

Huge offwhite head. Slightly hazy deep red body with light carbonation. Spicy waxy earthy aroma with notes of old books. Dry-sweet resiny pine wood taste with spicy floral notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft, smooth mouthfeel. Dryish earthy waxy spicy aftertaste with floral fruity caramel notes. Interesting, unusual, and way too drinkable. (0.75l bottle, from wine monopoly, Vika, Oslo.)

Pours an amber color with an off white head. Aroma is sweet with caramel malts, toffee, and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is strong of the toffee and caramel malts. Slight toasted malts on the finish as well with just a hint of alcohol warming.

I've had this in the fridge for a couple of months and just discovered it behind some home brews. Clean aroma of hops and caramel. The flavor is crisp and tasty. Finishes crisp and refreshing. Very nice brew. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A beautiful beer to look at, both in and out of the bottle so to say. My bottle had a different design to the one shown here. Somewhat confusing style wise, the beer is quite mild and quite subtle. There’s a crossroads between the English rural and old world Vienna capital going on here. Interesting but not very committed somehow. Probably going for a style of beer I’m not familiar with.

Will pour a five+ finger khaki head that fades very slowly leaving a good lace. Nearly clear amber. Good carbonation and medium bodied. Sweet orange rind nose and flavor is fruity, some hops, hints of caramel. Similar to an imperial IPA with less hops. Pricey at $14.99 for a 750ml bottle from Bert’s Better Beers Hooksett NH.

Bottle at Piccadilly, Bodø. Shared with Inbreak. Has a clear dark amber colour with a medium, creamy and light beige head. Aroma of dried fruit, soap and some spices and grassy hops. The flavour has more hops along with flowers and some citrus, alcohol and coffee. Has a slick mouth feel, and a medium bitterness. A fruity and a little sweet doppelbock, and with a nice hoppy touch.
