3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours a gorgeous clean, crisp colored amber. Head is decently thick, white, dissipates normally. Aroma is fruity like a traditional ale but with a bittery hop note that is perfectly balanced. Apricots, some citrus, some cheese funk. Those notes are not all of it, they simply blend so well its hard to pick individuals out alone. Taste is very similar, more pronounced however. Same fruit, apricot most prominent, very crisp, lots more malt body than the aroma. Great beer, not heavy at all and stays true to a lager style. Thought it might get heavier due to the ’imperial’ tag and become something different, but this is a great interpretation of both lager and imperial lager.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle, dark amber in color with lasting white head. Aroma of dried fruit, herbal hops and toffee. Taste is light herbal hops, bready toasted malts and hints of tangerine and some type of citrus rind. Has a marmalade flavor which I like. The carbonation gives a nice effervescent feel. The body is beefy for the style and the ABV is not shown. I sampled this while eating pizza for lunch and it really hit the spot. This is nicely made.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Mahogany with a soapy beige head, sugary nose, dark bread, cocoa, nutmeg, clove. Taste follows the nose, very subtle though. Kind of thin on the palate. I’m not a huge Doppelbock fan, but this is a decent one. Better as it warms.

Sampled at Big Brew Beer Festival (Morristown). Poured a hazy golden color with a thick frothy off white head. Aroma of old oranges, citrus, caramel malt, and light spices. Taste mimics the nose. Dominant orange notes, caramel malt, spices, and other citrus fruit.

750ml bottle in a tulip. Pours deep amber/copper with a lacy, off-white head. Aroma of toasty and nutty and caramel malts plus some light spices and a good amount of floral hops. Flavor the same with a nice blend. Average texture. An interesting beer for the style.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
4oz taster on draught in Washington, DC. Better than average Brooklyn beer, but I wouldn’t want a whole large format bottle of it.

Tallahassee, Fl - ABC Fine WIne & Spirits - Betton - 750 ml cage corked bottle - pours a murky dark orange, sticky off-white head that leaves plenty of sticky lacing. Aroma has some sweet molasses, a touch of light bubble gum. Flavor is smooth and warming with some light bubble gum accents, a touch of light dates, some hints of maple syrup and a touch of maple syrup. Mouthfeel is smooth and warming. Nice, but glad it was on sale from $13.99 down to $9.99.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Floral and citrus hops, too hoppy for the style but nice,
Hazy orange with white big head
Fruity and bitter taste. Yet again not as malty as the style demands.
Medium body with avereage catbonation
Nice but not outstanding and far from the style guidelines
