3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy straw colored beer with a foamy white head that sets up in peaks. Subtle nose of lemon, grains of paradise, and slightly sour yeast. Flavor is bright lemon with layers of spice that quickly subside into a mild bitterness--it really seems like a lemon was squeezed into the beer. This is an easy drinking brew, but not one that is boring or lacking flavor. I enjoyed it and would definitely drink again.

FROM NOTES: July 23, ’12
Poured from a bottle into a Spiegelau glass.
A: Initially of spicy yeast, peppercorns, and clove with hints of straw malt and lemongrass. Hops are really light and alcohol is not detected.
A: Pours a hazy dark golden yellow to golden orange in color with a three finger tall off-white head that slowly reduces to a thick film over the entire surface of the beer. Significant amounts of lacing are observed.
T: Light to moderate amounts of lemon citrus sourness along with some earthy/hay hop bitterness. There is an underlying sweetness with some spicy yeast flavors.
P: Light to medium body and moderate to high carbonation.
O: This beer is all about balance (not intensity) . A delicate beer from Garrett Oliver and Brooklyn Brewery. My first time around with Sorachi Ace hops and I like them!

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a hazy pale yellow with a foamy white head that doesn't last long but leaves decent lacing. Aroma of sweet pineapple and some lemon and a bit of graininess. Taste of lemon and some citrus with a bit of phenols and a slightly astringent graininess with some sweetness. Mouthfeel is crisp with a medium body and high carbonation. Finishes semi. Bigger body than most saisons a and a little more sweetness that takes away from its drinkability but still a good saison.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
2013 bomber to a tulip glass. Pours a hazy pale lemon yellow with a big fizzy white head. Aroma is a little lemon but get more of a tangerine. Some funk in the smell and reminds me a little if lemon Pledge. Taste is lemon with some sweetness, a very light malt quality with a bit of graininess. A cheesy taste at the very end. Thin medium mouthfeel with some astringency. Not as dry as most saisons.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
A fine beer that was hoppy for a saison but still rather unassuming. Pretty good but not amazing. Fairly smooth finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sampled at Nćrbř Řlfestival 2013. Slightly unclear yellow golden body with a moderate sized white head. Mild but nice aroma of spices and some citric fruit. Flavor is nice, refreshing, fruity and spicy yeat. Medium body with a fine refreshing aftertaste in the same league as the main flavor. A very pleasant Saison with this typical and not so easy to describe Saison aroma and flavors.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap: thanks to Ron for the suggestion. Golden-straw, translucent with a mild chill haze that eventually fades. Big-bubbled, white head stays thin but lasts for a while with small bits of wet lacing left behind. Aroma is packed with lemon of different hats; lemon peel, lemon zest, lemongrass... Effervescent & light, yet smooth & crisp. Herbaceous, grassy, earthy, with a touch of bubblegummy yeast esters. Little but of clove, coriander, & white pepper in the finish. Taste is more of the same, with lemon zest, herbal lemon tea, earthy & grassy hops, mild bitterness, clove, mild pepper spice, & a good blanket of Belgian yeast esters. Malt balances, but isn’t too sweet; cracker-like & bready. Crispy, dry finish. Very drinkable, nice stuff here.
