Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

Draft from The Beer Store Wilson. Golden hue, normal clarity with one finger thick frothy bright white head. Excellent lacing. Aromas of light orange hop, sunshine and pepper. Peppery hop taste up front with more of a subtle wheat finish.

Again surprised by this special beer from a brewery I sort of passed by after first enjoying their lager. True to style with a crisp attitude and clean finish the hops give the beer a nice zing to accompany all the other "right" elements.

On draft. Color of straw and golden yellow. Aroma of yeast and nice hops. Taste is very good and lots of hops. Prickly carbonation, "saison" but a good one. Not usually a saison drinker but this is a good one.

Rich crisp copper coloured body with a soapy and large just off-white head, about four centimetres tall. Aroma of yeast, grass, hay and a ton of hops - very noticeable and pungent - these must be Sorachi Ace. Medium-bodied; Dense malty mouthful at first with a strong yeast and hay kick near the end, all with some moderate complexity. Aftertaste shows a rich yeast note of champagne, grapes and a bit of hay - not too complex and not too hoppy, but showing some nice flavours. Overall, a decent saison with a noticeable hoppiness from the Sorachi Ave hops. Nothing exceptional, but a good beer for sure. I sampled this 75 cL bottle purchased from Costco in Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia on 16-July-2014 for US$7,89 sampled after a hockey game here in Washington.

Pours a pale golden body with tight phosphorescent pillow of foam. Strong retention and lacing all the way down the glass. Massive floral and citrus aromas with some freshly baked bread notes. Spicy grapefruit and pineapple tastes with a hint of coconut and ginger. Refreshing dry, semi-bitter, finish makes this extremely quaffable. Excellent cap to a relatively furtive trip around the sun.

Pours a cloudy golden color with a thick head that dissipates quickly leaving moderate lacing. Citrus nose. Strong citrus notes up front with a yeasty middle, leaves very little aftertaste but a pleasant feeling. Very good.

Max’s Taphouse, Baltimore, MD. 12oz bottle to shaker glass. Pours hazy golden orange, quick two finger billowy head, some lacing, good retention. Aroma of sour oranges, coriander and hay. Taste is medium sour, slightly bitter. Medium body, medium carbonation, watery mouth feel. Finishes sour with notes of tropical fruits, clove, orange peel, wild yeast and herbal hop bitterness. Nice.
