Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Nice cloudy appearance, fluffy white head. Aroma of champagne grapes, lemon, some dill, funky fruit. Taste of bubblegum, yeasty fruits, strawberry, lemon with a really lovely dry spicy finish. A true taste sensation.

22-OCT-2014, bottle @Taphouse, Brooklyn Night. Hazy golden with low White head. Perfumed, fruity aroma. Clearly Sorachi Ace. Taste the same but much more saison-like with spice and yeast. Very lively cabonation and fine body. Very nice.

Sampled at Northgate Tasting. Big carbonation problems with all of the bottles being sampled. How could this happen?

UPDATED: NOV 1, 2014 75 cl. Pours a medium white foamy dense head, nice yellow to orange bit hazy colour. Smells fruity, mint, spicy, floral, barnyard and bit weed like too; it has an almost anice, minty and spicy particular note, which I believe comes from the sorachi ace dry-hopping. In the mouth there’s again that particular sorachi mint wrapping fragrance; tastes also orange/yellow fruits, lemon hops, spices, belgian yeast (quite Westmalle-ish like). Low to medium fruit sweet coming from the malts, light tartness, and final delicate hop note, very refreshing and aromatic, but with a delicate bitterness which is never invasive. Lively carbonation, medium bodied, low persistance. In my opinion doenst fit particurarly a specific style, sort of an american inspired belgian style tripel/saison, boosted with some nice aromatic hops, original. That was very nice indeed!

Nice light orange color with a big fluffy head on top. Hoppy, hay, slightly orange nose with a trace of coriander. Crisp, refreshing nice taste. Highly carbonated, a bit grenadine in the taste. Fast going .

A wonderful saison beer. I’ve had Sorachi Ace hops in various beers and they always add something interesting. Never have they been better used then in this beer.

Beer to Piraat tulip, pour is a hazy light golden color with a massive white head. Aroma is very citrusy, a bit of barnyard, hay, orange peel. Not very complex but it’s quite strong. Taste carries the aroma notes but adds bread/hay elements. Quite grainy, thought there would be more hop notes, do notice a bit of pickle which is odd but characteristic of the hop. Palate suggests this is just OK, probably should’ve been colder. Co2 looked heavy but wasn’t. Mouthfeel wasn’t as thin or dry as I was expecting but the beer tasted and feels watery. Balanced well and the alcohol is very well concealed. Overall this is OK...the aroma was pretty wowing but this beer left more to be desired.
