Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

Väldigt uppfriskande och god. Fruktig med tydlig belgisk karaktär. Frisk och fruktig smak, smak av belgisk jäst. Välbalanserad.

A - pours unfiltered medium grade grade darker amber apple juice. Has a high fluffy big bubbled head. S - interesting hard to place tropical fruit aromas up front ( the serachi hops?) Belgian yeasts, oaky notes, citrus peel, cloves, lemon. M - medium bodied lighter palate. Fairly simple but good. Light alcohol warmed end with mild bitterness. T - nag champa up front. Strange but good. Belgian yeasts, grassy and hay notes. Fresh orange and lemon peel and cloves. Simple vegetal end. O - pretty good different but flatter and simple. 6+

Bottleshare BBQ at Dave L’s, PA - 27/05/12. Cloudy golden yellow with lots of carbonation visible. Yeast, citrus, lemon peel nose. Taste follows nose, sweet malt, largely lemon, touch of hops and spice. Medium bodied and a good rasp of carbonation but not as much as the visuals made out! Dryish clean finish.

The Narrows, Brooklyn tap ($6): Pours a light orange color with a white head. Aroma is sorachi ace hops, lemon, and some saison yeast. To be honest, it would have been hard for me to pinpoint this beer as a saison. I think Sorachi Ace beers are almost their own style. In any case, this has a lot of spice, a lot of lemon, a fair amount of peculiar hops, and a nice body. I felt no qualms about getting a second glass.

Bottle. The pour was a cloudy golden yellow with a large (2-3 finger) white fluffy head that reduced down to a medium cap and had excellent sheets of lacing. The aroma was of a light grain malt, floral and grassy hops and a funky Belgian yeast with notes of citrus (lemon), green apple, and a bit of spice. The taste was lightly sweet and rather creamy with a hint of citrus, and a mild fruity ester from the onset, progressing into a mild bitter yeasty taste with a light spicy finish. The flavor stuck around for a little while with the spicy fruity taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was light in body with a creamy and slightly dry texture and a mild carbonation. Overall a nice crisp tasting brew with all components working harmoniously together, which did a great job of concealing the somewhat high ABV making this one very enjoyable drinking experience...

I thought this beer was "bright," and then read the label, which describes it as such. A light, fragrant beer with good hop character and good drinkability.

Bottle at Dans shared with friends. Pour is hazy gold in appearance with a fluffy white head and great lacing. Very fruity upfront, with light touches of spice, pear, and lemon, definitely some grass in there, as well. Spicy yeast, citrus zest, spice, white pepper, coriander, grass, light funk, and banana ending lightly bitter. Medium mouthfeel with soft carnation. Pretty nice stuff.

Bottle @ Dan’s house , courtesy of Stephen. Thanks! Cloudy, golden orange appearance with a small white head. Spicy, pear, white wine, herbal hoppy, sweet fruity aroma. Spicy, fairly dry, apple, pear, well carbonated, bubbly, white wine, spicy peppery, herbal flavor. Pretty tasty stuff.
