COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

750 ml bottle. Pours a clear, pale gold with a white head. Nose is of yeast, grass and lemon. Taste is the same as the nose with yeast, grass and lemon. Mouthfeel is dry and thin. So-so.

Caged and corked bomber received in trade. Golden straw-colored body with a crazy large head. Chilled nicely. A perfect brew for a summer’s eve. Spicy, yeasty aroma. Flavors of citrus, pepper and saison funkiness. Medium body with great carbonation. Finishes dry with spice and citrus. A very nice beer. Enjoyable.

750mL bottle - $12.49 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours out a hazed, pale yellow body with a large, rising, airy white head. Smell: A delightfully spirited nose, replete with vivid notes of Meyer lemons, budding Springtime flowers, lychee fruit, fresh basil, pilsner malts, and lighter hints of alcohol and a background funkiness. Taste: Pils malts with a little tanginess and a soft, honeyed sweetness washed down with a gulp of white wine. Hint of biscuit dough. Vibrant florals. Distinct taste of fresh lemon juice. In amongst the stronger tastes is just a faint hint of funk. Moist garden-grown herbs seasoned with white pepper and cracked cloves, with more emphasis on the pepper. Medium-light bitterness. A veritable round table of all the various tastes on the dry finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Well carbonated. Drinkability: An eminently quaffable, soundly complex saison, with, thankfully, not a drop more alcohol than is needed. I really enjoyed this one, Brooklyn.

Very excited to finally try this brew! First of all, gorgeous packaging, has to be said. Pours handsome gold with a big frothy, fluffy white head. Aroma is lemony, grassy, grains of paradise. Body is clean, prickly, light mouthfeel. Flavor shows cut grass and lemon pith, meshing well with the spicy yeast. Whole experience felt very fresh, quaffable. Good solid summer brew, but I must admit I probably wouldn’t pay the price premium again.

Bottle from SL... Nice pour, big head, classic saison... light orange in color. Aroma of some spices, lemon and yeast. Taste is a nice light refreshing saison. Very light and fluffy. Lemon, spices and grass/hay. A little tartness to it. Easy to drink, good brew. I could drink this everyday and be happy. I love the sorachi ace hop!

750mL corked and caged bottle. Pours clear gold with slight hints of orange, very lively, and topped with a large foamy white head that collapses to leave some rocky foam. Aromas of orangepeel, clove, spicy grapefruit rind, candi sugar, and a touch of sour alcohol. Nice fruity/spicy aromas. Flavor is spicy floral hops, bitter grapefruit, orangepeel, some overripe banana, and clove. The aftertaste is sugary orangepeel. Lively, medium body, almost creamy, with a warming and dry finish. This was really good.

This is a very interesting beer. Pours a cloudy light yellow, they call it sunshine in a bottle and it is very similar. Nice white foam head tops this. Aroma is quite amazing. Citrus, light spice, clove and something that I just can’t place but I could smell it for a long time. Taste is light, citrus, nicely carbonated with a slight spice in the aftertaste. Great beer.

Pours a thick hazy orange body with decent head. Aroma is typical, standard farmhouse funk with slight bitter hop. Really let down by this one.

(750ml bottle) Purchased at Hillside Liquor in Saanich for $21, also seen this beer at Cook Street Liquor in Victoria for a similar price. Pours a lasting, almond-coloured ice cream cone head atop a ever so heavily carbonated orange-amber body. Nose of citrus, hops, yeast and marijuana. The aroma is really amazing, like the first time I had Quebec’s Charlevoix 8e Jour or Schneider-Brooklyner Hopfen - its a wild yeast estate sale. Very bright and lively. Somewhat light considering its 8.7% ABV while a crisp hoppiness usually found in a proper Pilzner gets impaled by a leafy meandering. Lasting earthy hops flavour through the finish. This is really good. Not worth $21 but worthy of being split amongst friends on a special occasion.

Pours a lively, pale golden, head resides to thin, but consistent film throughout tasting. Smells of grass, herbal spiciness, a little of "the cousin", mild citrus, some pepper. Taste is pretty much the same, very little malt and maybe some tannins from hops??? Overall, it has a good weight balanced nicely by high carbonation. The grassy/herbal notes may cause some fatigue after extended consumption, but the balance of residual sweetness and mouthfeel make this beer exteremely palatable!
