Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

Pour is a bright yellow with a large white head. Aroma is very lemony with some dank mustyness and some yeasty flair. Flavor is more citrus with a nice farmhouse funkyness. Some oaky vanilla tannins follow after the swallow. Not very hoppy but it has enough things going on with it. Would be great with some aged blue cheese. I have been waiting to try this for a long time and it did not dissapoint. Soild saison.

Clear golden colour with a large frothy head. Lively carbonation. Barley, hop aroma with hint of sugar cane. Very light on the palette. Refreshing beer. Sweet yet has a crisp bitter finish. Tangy citrus.

Bottle poured a clear golden with orange hues, large soapy white head, and excellent lacing. Aroma is big lemon zest followed by pear, floral notes, and bready yeast. Taste begins with honey and grape leading to a wave of lemon/lime zest and grassy hop flavor on a clean crisp finish. Enjoyable carbonation but flavors fade quickly. Nice drinkable saison.

Unique beer to my palate, but other than that, there wasn’t anything I truly enjoyed. Slightly tart/sour nose and taste in taste. Yellow in color with bubbly head.

[keg at the Brooklyn Brewery] Hazy golden amber with a voluminous white head. Fantastic aroma of lemon, lime, hay, bready malt, yeast. On the flavour, it has elements of the saison in the slightly funky farmhouse edge, but also the wacky Sorachi bubblegum and mint (and everything else) flavours. One of those beers where every sip is different. Great stuff [26112012]

Pour out of 750 mL bottle, hazy yellow pour with fluffy white head, aroma brought notes of lemon, biscuit, bread, some hints of sweet grape, pear, some spice, grass notes in there as well, pretty nice. Taste is a nice mix of earth, grain, vanilla, grassy and lemon forward hops, slight earth, peach, pear and grape, finishing fairly dry but slightly sweet.

Pours golden with a lingering fluffy white head. Aroma is yeasty with apples and pears. Taste adds some hop spice. Wonderful dry effervescent palate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

750 mL bottle from Rouses Market in New Orleans, Louisiana, served in a wine glass. Pours hazy amber with a moderate, fluffy off-white head. The head remains and leaves a small amount of fine lace. On the nose, there are notes of lemon, grapefruit, apple and grape, along with honey, pale malts and Belgian yeast. The flavour is moderately sweet, with honey, citrus and Belgian yeast. The finish is long and malty with citrus rind. On the palate, it is medium in body with a dryish texture and soft carbonation. Overall, this is a nice saison. It is nicely complex and very enjoyable to drink. Worth another try. 2012-04-29

The Sorachi Ace Saison was poured into, appropriately, some Brooklyn Brewery snifters that just happened to be sitting out in the kitchen. The golden amber, slightly hazy liquid is topped by a fluffy white head. The color was warm and rich. The aroma had a bit of yeastiness to it, along with fruit and a touch of lemon zest. The flavor is mildly spicy, with hints of white pepper. There’s a distinct lemon zest flavor, not sour, over a substantive malt base. The finish is quite dry with lingering bitterness. The beer has less of the "funkiness" of a typical Saison, and comes across relatively mild. It maintained its flavor as it warmed over discussions of life and politics.

The head is medium, the body blond and cloudy. It smells strong CO² , citrus, honey. The taste is different hoppy, citrus, a bit honey. Not bad, but not my favourite hop. 12/10/10/11/15/10
