4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Excited to try this one-seeing as I like Local 1 so much.
A-Body is a quite pale, nearly transparent golden yellow hue. Pours with a frothing, foamy 3 finger+ foamy white head. Head eventually subsides to 1 finger and has perfect retention from there. Some lacing is left behind in the glass.
N-Nose is rather mild with a floral hop accent-but there is a lot of citrus presence as well-orange peel, lemon zest and maybe a hint of grapefruit. Below this is a hint of grain and yeast funk.
T-Taste is similar to the smell. The cirtus characteristics come forward the most initially with a slight funky background. The finish is refreshing and dry with a good dose of floral hop flavor and bitterness as well as a hint of peppery spice.
P- High tingly carbonation and a lightweight, yet full somewhat spritzy body with a hint of juicy consistency.
O- Overall this is a great, hoppy, slightly dry, enjoyable saison. ABV is pushing 8% but is not noticable at all throughout the profile. Garret Oliver shows here for a second time that he really knows how to make a great saison/pale belgian ale.

Wholly crap the cork just dented the roof when in it exploded of the bottle. Brew looks hazy gold with a massive cap. Sweet sour, vanilla, lemon, honey floral aroma, this shit smells good! Wow I’ve never smelt a beer like this before. Taste is the awesome yeasty, wheat malt that’s has a creamcicle like taste. A yummy and unique herbal hop shows up in the finish. Oh man I love this beer!!! I swear the citrus vanilla flavor starts to turn into a mint vanilla, so very good. What a great beer I’m so glad Gully shared it with me.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Bottle, shared with Malfair. Hazy light gold, lively lingering head. Interesting aroma is sweet and spicy with fresh vegetal undertones, bringing celery root to mind. Nice sweet pale malts with a smooth texture, kind of buckwheaty in a way. Gently spicy palate, lightly herbal, again with that difficult to define fresh vegginess. Finish is dry and very peppery. Delicious and intriguing, a real treat!

Bottle. Golden pour with huge carbonation and white head. This beer is full of spices and yeast, with a subtle lemon zing in the finish. Crisp and slightly prickly mouthfeel.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Light straw pour, white head, heavy lacing. Aroma is peppery hops, tea, some carrot aroma too but it’s faint and belgian yeast. Taste is quite spicy/peppery and dry. Good saison palate. This is way above expectations and an excellent saison.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours golden yellow with a thick white head. Aroma is very funky with a strong hop aroma. Flavour is also great dry and funky with w very bread yeast flavour it it. This is one hell of a funky saison. It lacks the citrus flavours that I find usually accompany saison. But It is still a hell of a brew.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
I was curious to try this, since it is supposedly made with a rare breed of Japanese hops. The ace of diamonds decorates the label. Dark blonde pour with a big topper of froth. The aroma is very nice at first - fresh, sweet, citrusy hops - but then it turns a bit soapy and yeasty after a few minutes in the glass. Like a good saison, this ale is rustic and funky. There are a number of elements that complicate the flavor. The label says it is a golden saison made with Belgian yeast, which makes sense to my tastebuds. The label goes on to call it sunshine in a glass, and there I disagree. It is good, with notes of lemon zest, chamomile, mint, and malt. The hops are pleasantly bitter and not harsh. A good saison/golden ale yes, but a Sorachi Ace spectacular? Not quite.
