4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pours a huge 2 inch ultra white head. Body is a hazy, lemon-yellow color. Lots of bubbles and carbonation, head retention and lacing are great.
First smell is of spicy yeast, peppercorns, and clove. Also hints of straw malt and lemongrass. Hops are really light and alcohol isnít detected.
Taste is light and crisp, with lots of spice and pepper bite. A lemony twang is also in the mix, with a slight alcohol aftertaste. Not getting much hops, some citrus, light malts round out the beer.
Mouthfeel is light, highly carbonated, and astringent. Head contributed a little to the beer.
Overall this is a semi sessionable, refreshing beer. Would pair great with salads or lemongrass chicken/asian food. Not my favorite style but its a solid beer and glad I tried it.

On tap pours hazy gold with small white head. Bready nose with hints of dull earth. Taste is same with addition of flower and faint clove. Slightly less than medium body. A treat with fish tacos.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Mane Liquor. Pours straw yellow with a small, fluffy white head. Some nice lacing left behind. Nose is very citric with loads of lemon zest. Slightly perfumey and a touch of grass in there as well. Really liking the balance and how this has come together. Taste really focuses on the Sorachi Ace. Loads of lemon and zest. Sweet hoppiness all the way through while it never takes away from a typical belgian saison. Fantastic beer and has the perfect mouth feel to keep this flowing

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tap at Milltown Carrboro, 16 oz. pour
Ar: Lots of fresh lemon zest dominates, but some earthy undertones as well.
Ap: Pours a hazy pale yellow-copper-orange-etc. (you know standard Saison color, I canít ever describe it).
T: Moderate sweetness but balanced by a nice tart touch on the finish. Really refreshing for a 7.6% abv beer. Finish lemony again.
P: Slightly sticky, medium-thick, assertive carbonation.
O: Iíd been wanting to try this for a while. Thoroughly enjoyable.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle at volo.
Clear golden pour, big frothy head. Light funky, hoppy aroma. Some citrus, pine, fresh cut grass, and yeast. Carb was a little over the top. Finish was light on the bitterness and had a wonderful peppery finish like a good sasion should have. The sorachi hops added a welcome piney, citrus mix that was really nice. A great saison.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Poured from a corked and caged 750 ml bottle. Aroma is an earthy citrus pine medley with just a hint at some tartness in the background. Taste is more of the same. I wish the beer would have had a little more tartness to it, but I find myself thinking that a lot lately.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Picked this up at Lebanon Co-Op. They had about 20 in stock as of this review. Poured into a Mikasa Tulip.
A - 4-Finger crystal clear head that dissipated very fast with some alright head lacing on the edges. SRM of 3.1. Light golden color with no clouds or haze.
S - Big citrus lemon zest scent, champagne and bready. Wild almost Brett scent as well. Very funky.
T - Immediately the lemon peels and orange pulp is what I get first. The champagne yeast is not as pronounced as expected. More of the wild / funky yeast especiallly on the last pour that I intentionally included the drags on made the funk so much more pronounced. Yeah, the last pour was very funky.
M - Medium bodied and very dry even more after swallowing. Lingering bready and citrus tastes
O - Good beer. Not a home run but this is a tasty beer I would buy again.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Hazy golden color, frothy head. Aroma is peppery and grainy from the Sorachi. Light fruity base with the rice/grainy flavor of sorachi. Not overly funky or spicy, but sorachi is just delicious. I liked it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Smells like an awesome belgian. Pours a clear gold with a tiny head. Has a touch of hop bitterness but finishes clean. Possibly the best saison Iíve tried to date.
