2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap in the Mews Tavern RI. Poured a pale lemon juice haze. Foam head with a smattering of lacing. Aroma of yeast and nutmeg. Palate was odd, watery and grassy.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Cloudy yellow, thin white head. Odd metallic smell, with some spicy, herbal notes. Flavor is also very nice - clean and crisp, with some citrus and some nice yeasty notes, as well. Odd beer, but tasty...

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Draft at wholefoods fairfax. Pours hazy yellow with a slight hue of green and a thin white head. Aroma is Earthy lemon grass. Mouthful is crisp with big lemon zest and that earthiness in the background. Verry enjoyable display of the japanese hop!

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
mini-growler from riversideak; super cloudy, pale yellow with trace white head; sharp, hoppy nose mixed with lemons and stale malt; drinkable, but has a sharp bite to it either from the soriachi or perhaps star anise; quite fruity, but lacking those yeast/spice characteristics; doesn’t quite come together for a complete beer; interesting though

3.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The hop aroma in this is just wild, like a super sappy pine and citrus explosion. The flavor, however, is not nearly as hoppy as it smells and it is a pretty well balanced brew. Would have guessed a lower ABV.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
The Sorachi wasn’t one of my favorite Saison beers, but it was enjoyable nonetheless. The beer poured a bright golden color with a huge white head that left a minimal amount of lacing around the glass. The nose was interesting, with notes of spices, coriander and black pepper. The flavors were spritzy and bubbly, with notes of bread, yeast, raspberry, orange peel, lemon and grapes. The finish is quite active, with more of spritzy and overly-carbonated feel. This wasn’t one of my favorite Saison-style beers.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Leons. The best gastropub in town. Except I don’t like to use a term that is so overused these days. Anyways, the beer, pour is a beautiful hazy yellow with a big white head. A nice hop profile here. This is definitely more about the hops than the spice. A grassy, floral sort of hop. The first sip takes you to a nice malt profile and body with a touch of some lemon citrus. The aroma and finish is where this beer makes its money. The hops are well placed and balance the spice and malt nicely. Would grab this again and drink it all night.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft at Redlight Redlight. The pour yields a mostly clear, medium golden colored body with a steady, foamy, off-white head. Solid ribbons of sheety lacing coat the glass well. The aroma is based in lightly sweet, dry cereal grain, with a dank, grassy hoppiness and fresh, lemony overtones. Flavors are largely the same, exceedingly fresh with peppery lemongrass hoppiness and oily lemon rind, all atop a lightly grainy malt base. The palate sports a substantial, semi-dry body that matches the grassy, lemony hoppiness quite well. Semi-dry med+ bal good. Easily the best of the Brookly Brewmaster Reserve series. Very good, and completely unique brew. I love these Sorachi Ace hops.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
(draft) Medium white head that leaves nice lacing atop lightly hazed apple juice body. Aroma is medium sweet, sage, ginger, light lemon. Taste is medium sweet, spice, some sage, light ginger, pepper. Light-medium body, fairly crisp especially given the ABV. Alcohol near invisible.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Growler from Big Z. Pours a very light golden mostly clear- moderate to big head- mostly sticky lasting lace. Aroma bubblegum phenolics- lemon is pretty high, solvent like with a apple lime palmolive soapy quality, light doughy cracker malt and some grassiness. Flavor is lemon zest, very light bready malts, crisp clean, slight soapiness from the hops- very light phenols, mostly clean with a minty bubblegum finish- mostly dry finish.
