Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

UPDATED: AUG 14, 2012 My Bottom Line :
This dry and fluffy Saison lines up lemongrass, mango and citrus fruitiness in a soft mouthfeel leading to balanced herbal hop bitterness and a relaxing lactic character.

Further Personal Perceptions :
-A foamy head bobs atop the clear golden.
-Menthol allusions appear here and there.
-The bottle conditioning job is excellent.
-This is not a particularly complex Saison, but it reminds you that Saisons, like many beer styles for that matter, don’t need to be complex to be highly enjoyable.
-Drinkability is very high for a 7%+ brew.

2012 bottle. Pours a beautiful light gold with a big fluffy white head. As soon as the cork popped a big fresh hops aroma poured forth. Sweet/spicy aroma like a hefe, but the piney hops bring a greats balance to the taste. Perfect, light, cry crispness with a slight hops bitterness on the end. Very strong, evolving palate that sticks around for awhile.

Tasted at beer dabbler. Not my favorite but lots of flavor really hoppy. Not a pleasant lingering after taste.

pours clear mellow yellow with a thick foamy creamy head, very nice clustered fast-moving champagne CO2 streams. Very nice aromatic tangerine oils on the nose. Super velvety mouthfeel, tastes of smooth tangerine, medium sweetness (5/10), light and soft hoppiness, coriander, finishes mildly tangy and off-dry soft bitter. Medium complexity, med-high carry, excellent transitions, great carry, fabulous drinkability. The creamy velvety mouthfeel is 2nd to none.

Bottle. Musty lemon and grass/hay aroma. Golden yellow with large white head. Musty lemon peel, malt and lightly bitter hay hops flavor. Great blending and body. A great saison.

This is an excellent example of an americanized belgian, imo. It takes an excellent saison and adds a little american hoppinness.

On tap at Common Table. Pours cloudy golden orange with a white head. Aromas of grassy and fruity hops, yeast, and citrus. Flavors of orange, fruity hops, bubblegum, and yeast. Nice body and mouthfeel. Very tasty saison.

750ml bottle from Total Wine Kennesaw, GA ----> snifter. Pours hazy dark orange with huge frothy white head. Aroma is floral/spicey hops and a bit of alcohol. Palate is a little flat for a saison, with a little lacking in the carbonation department. Hop flavor comes through really well and there is a mild sweetness and yeasty on the back end. I would prefer a little more bite, but this is a highly enjoyable beer. This is my first experience with a sorachi ace, so I have no frame of reference on that end. Wouldn’t hesitate to reccomend this one.
