COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

Elwood (3046) - Leesburg, Virginia, USA - SEP 4, 2009
Serving: Draft. Appearance: Hazy, pale yellow with a touch of green. Decent pillowy white head. Decent head retention. Okay lacing. Aroma: Light nose with lemon and lots of butter, and butterscotch. Not good Mav. Taste: Buttery (surprise, surprise), citrus (lemony), light wheat notes, a touch of dust, and a bit of bubble gum. Odd, but not entirely terrible. Palate: High carbonation with a light mouthfeel and a medium-short finish. Overall: Light and refreshing, but the butter aroma and taste says something is awry. Rebuy: Negative.

Drake (8186) - Free Union, Virginia, USA - SEP 3, 2009
Served on draft at Beer Run in Charlottesville, VA. Pours a vazy orange-lemon color with a thin creamy white head. Decent head retention and lacing. Big citrusy aroma with lots of bread and some stone fruits and caramel. Taste is peach, citrus, banana, bread and lots of earthy and herbal notes with a faintly metallic finish. Softly carbonated, fairly dry and medium bodied.

Big lemon and earth in the nose. Smell is bright and interesting. Fruity, but also somewhat soapy smelling at the same time. Let’s just say it’s fragrant. Hazy golden yellow light foamy islands. Lemon and earth, some fragrant soapy notes, some spice and fruity presence is in there as well. Maybe some ginger. Rather dry finish, pretty drinkable stuff.

dchmela (2631) - Orlando, Florida, USA - SEP 1, 2009
Draft at Redlight. Pours a hazy yellow with a thick white head. Huge resiny lemon hop, lemon zinger tea aroma. Smooth tasty light crisp malt with more resiny lemon hops bounding all over the room. What an amazingly powerful hop variety and a very tasty beer, although you would never know it to be a saison.

On tap at Beer Run. Less yeasty than most, very lemony citrus hops. Light and crisp. Had no idea this was 7.5% untill looking here. Delicious.

Draft at International Beer Garten (Lutz, FL). Pours a slightly cloudy golden orange color with a foamy white head. Bountiful aroma of yeast, citrus hops, and a mixture of spices. Very nice flavor. Light and sweet initially followed by a dry bitter finish. Goes down quite smoothly as the 7.5% is well-hidden.

UPDATED: SEP 17, 2009 BCTC. Pale golden hazy with head. Grassy lemon pastry aroma. Very dry peach apricot with spicy grassy lemon hop. Soft light effervescent mouthfeel. I love beers like this and I love this one.

Draft… Cloudy, straw-colored ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Great retention. Perfumey, spicy scents of pear, clove and rye. Light to medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Crisp, spicy, dry flavor. Perfectly balanced. The finish is spicy and bone-dry. Not really my thing, but very refreshing, drinkable and interesting.

Draft at The Comet. Poured a hazy yellow color with an average frothy white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate herbs, citrus and yeast aroma. Light to medium body with a smooth texture and lively carbonation. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweet & sour finish of short to moderate duration. I drank and would recommend this to a friend.
