3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Before buying, I asked the bartender what type of beer this was an her reply surprised me a bit: "Belgian farmhouse." With a name like Sorachi, I [correctly] identified it as Japanese. So I ordered the beer last night and this morning found out the explanation behind the name; that is, the certain hop strain from Japan used in the brewing process.
I enjoyed this beer a lot. Had it on tap at the Brooklyn Bowl. Poured a slightly hazy yellow with a mild white head. Floral scent. Flavor had fruity notes and a robust hop backbone. It was quite delicious and very refreshing.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft… Cloudy, straw-colored ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Great retention. Perfumey, spicy scents of pear, clove and rye. Light to medium-bodied with fizzy carbonation. Crisp, spicy, dry flavor. Perfectly balanced. The finish is spicy and bone-dry. Not really my thing, but very refreshing, drinkable and interesting.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at Vermont Brewer’s Fest 2009. Very pale straw coloured brew. White head. The aroma is quite nice. Lots of light spice with a bright lemony nose and a lot of nice wheaty spiciness. Fairly dank resinous hoppiness as well that I attribute to the dryhopping, but I’m not sure if that’s the case. Lean and bright with a lot of nice lemony citrus and a good contribution from both the yeast and the hops. Pretty damn tasty really.

From JW77. Man a really hoppy aroma and a nvery nice pale gold beer lead to a flavor that is quite unexpected. It smells like a hop bomb but instead is a nice smooth malty and bit funky beer. I really enjoyed it. Very cool

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle. Pours with a hazed vibrant yellow body with amazing retention and lace that sticks to the glass like foamy glue. A ring per sip. Aroma is very fragrant, perfume, lemon, hoppy, sharply spicy and lemon hop character, citrus zest, vanilla and herbs (provencal herbs). Lightly peppery. Taste is very dry, lemon, herbal, bitter, vanilla and dry grain. Very lively bubbles, dry, uplifting. One of the best products that I have had from Brooklyn. An excellent saison, that is right up my alley (a hoppy or bretted saison that smacks you in the face with flavor, yet is astonishingly drinkable and refreshing)!
