COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

The Sorachi Ace Saison was poured into, appropriately, some Brooklyn Brewery snifters that just happened to be sitting out in the kitchen. The golden amber, slightly hazy liquid is topped by a fluffy white head. The color was warm and rich. The aroma had a bit of yeastiness to it, along with fruit and a touch of lemon zest. The flavor is mildly spicy, with hints of white pepper. There’s a distinct lemon zest flavor, not sour, over a substantive malt base. The finish is quite dry with lingering bitterness. The beer has less of the "funkiness" of a typical Saison, and comes across relatively mild. It maintained its flavor as it warmed over discussions of life and politics.

As I untwisted the cage the bottle exploded open, the cork almost smashing my ceiling light fixture. So this is a lively one, pale gold with big white foam. Aromas of apple, banana, farmhouse yeast, hay, bread. There is spice here which I like. Light sweetness, medium bitter. Dry and crisp, light body, very lively.

Very good luxury beer from the Brooklyn Brewery. Great beer to bring to a poker night.

Bottled. Pours slightly hazy, pale golden. Aroma of citrus, lemon grass, a little dill, spicy notes and yeast. Sweet flavor that ends up dry and nice bitter. Medium bodied, oily texture and soft to average carbonation. An excellent hoppy Saison. 🌟🌟🌟🌟

Hazy light gold, medium white head. Some yeasty notes, dill and citrus on the nose. Medium bodied, bit dry, overall rather nice. Finishes on farmhouse and dry notes.

Pours slightly hazy golden with big white head. Nose is sweetish, yeast, zest, banana, wheat, spices, grapefruit. Taste is fruity, spicy, still banana and wheat notes, zest, decent body. Also a bit funky. First sip was strange but after that I liked it. Carbonation is nice and gentle, maybe because of the champagne yeast.

Lightly colored, just ok scent with a hint of malt and no hops. Flavor was very yeasty with not as much hop flavor as the description. Not quite the beer I was looking for

From LCBO. Very pale yellow with lively white head that lingered. Lemon and straw aroma. Flavours of lemon and straw with a mild hop bite. Quite nice.

Barnyard funk with grapefruit aroma. Taste is hay and strong grape fruit. Slight sulfur on the aftertaste. Color is hazy yellow with a constant stream of carbonation from the bottom.

There’s a slight hint of lemon, and a bit of spiciness in the aroma, it pours a hazy straw with very large amounts of carbonation and a fluffy white head. The lemon notes come through a bit more in the flavor, with a strange aftertaste along with it. The spice notes are there as well, and it is exceptionally dry. I’m not sure that the Sorachi Ace is a hop that works well with the rest of the Saison notes. It’s not bad, but I’ve had better.

Poured from a large bottle into a snifter glass to sample. The beer had a pretty cloudy straw-gold color with a very large creamy-foamy white head with very good retention, cling, and lacing. Its aroma featured grapefruit, citrus, and straw notes with some grain and lemon. It had sweet and bitter taste, with lemon zest, citrus, and a light grain and straw undertone. The body was fairly well carbonated with a dry, thinner mouthfeel.
