COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

Bottle. The pour was a cloudy golden yellow with a large (2-3 finger) white fluffy head that reduced down to a medium cap and had excellent sheets of lacing. The aroma was of a light grain malt, floral and grassy hops and a funky Belgian yeast with notes of citrus (lemon), green apple, and a bit of spice. The taste was lightly sweet and rather creamy with a hint of citrus, and a mild fruity ester from the onset, progressing into a mild bitter yeasty taste with a light spicy finish. The flavor stuck around for a little while with the spicy fruity taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was light in body with a creamy and slightly dry texture and a mild carbonation. Overall a nice crisp tasting brew with all components working harmoniously together, which did a great job of concealing the somewhat high ABV making this one very enjoyable drinking experience...

When I saw the evil alcohol monopoly actually allowed this beer into the province I almost literally ran out to get some. Having picked up a bottle in the past from a trip to Buffalo I had to get more. Never rated it though. So here it goes. Pours a cloudy golden blonde with a bit of an absurd amount of fluffy white head. I should wait for the head to settle to get a good smell...but I won’t. Even with the cloud sitting on this I’m getting strong smells of hay malts, spice and little lacto sour. Screw the smelling and get to the drinking. A smooth creamy draw get me a mouth of great hay and cereal malts, a light sourness that it balanced out by a caramel sweetness that isn’t overpowering. A nice spiciness is also brought to the table with cream and some citrus in the after. Wow this is a great beer. Might have to run back out again and get even more before the LCBOh-you-can’t-be-trusted-to-sell-alcohol-all-on- stops bringing this is to bring in more of that "exceptional" Wychwood Brewery stuff.

Bright and zesty aroma with a thick, creamy head. Lemon and spices on the tongue, this is wonderfully carbonated with a crisp finish and loads more light citrus and Belgian spices. Very refreshing. Very nice.

Smells beautiful, lemon peel, Belgian spicy yeast, light malt and a mineral character. Looks beautiful, hazy yellow with long lasting finely bubbled head. Pleasingly acidic upfront, lemon peel and funk, finishes with a leafy hoppyness, Belgian spices and a light caramel sweetness. Quite a tasty saison. Medium bodied and highly carbonated.

On tap at the Greenville beer festival, this pours a hazy straw into the glass with a nice ring of suds that leaves soapy lacing. Lots of lemon to the nose. Gorgeous bouquet! Flavors have definitive French yeast, grains, lots of lemongrass and bright citrus. A very refreshing and active palate ensues. Lively and citrusy, this is great... substantive and complex, yet highly quaffable.

Sun-like yellow; sweet aroma; nice dry taste; strange palate (too "weak" i think); Nice overall.

Bottle; Pour is clear medium gold, with a fine bubbled, two fingered white head into this glass - it retains fairly well, with sticky lacing presence. The nose is sweet caramel and spent grain, while the spicy, earthy notes from the specialty yeasts make this one interesting. However, it’s overly spicy here - its nearly off putting, but it’s magnified on the flavor profile - the spiciness, that is. It’s overly earthy as well, with light lemon, spent grain, moving to caramel sweet with some grass presence. It’s dry, crisp, and sweet, but it’s also a bit obnoxious as well - This just does not work , and I imagine the champagne yeast has something to do with it. I’m slightly offended by this beer, and I really don’t know why it took me this long to get to this one. This may be a "classic" american craft beer but its simply lost to my palette at this point.
