Brooklyn Sorachi Ace is a classic saison, a cracklingly dry, hoppy unfiltered golden farmhouse ale, but featuring rare Sorachi Ace hop.Fermented with our special Belgian ale strain, we add Sorachi Ace hops post-fermentation. After 100% bottle re-fermentation with Champagne yeast, the beer emerges with a bright spicy lemon zest aroma. It tastes like sunshine in a glass, and that suits us just fine, especially with seafood dishes and fresh cheeses.

Bottle. The pour was a cloudy golden yellow with a large (2-3 finger) white fluffy head that reduced down to a medium cap and had excellent sheets of lacing. The aroma was of a light grain malt, floral and grassy hops and a funky Belgian yeast with notes of citrus (lemon), green apple, and a bit of spice. The taste was lightly sweet and rather creamy with a hint of citrus, and a mild fruity ester from the onset, progressing into a mild bitter yeasty taste with a light spicy finish. The flavor stuck around for a little while with the spicy fruity taste left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was light in body with a creamy and slightly dry texture and a mild carbonation. Overall a nice crisp tasting brew with all components working harmoniously together, which did a great job of concealing the somewhat high ABV making this one very enjoyable drinking experience...

Pours almost clear greenish yellow with medium, radiply diminishing white head. Aroma is dill, lemon, solvent, grass, herbs, dough and bit of barnyard. Medium malty, medium bitter, medium sour. Good medium long aftertaste with some tartness, slightly astringent. Medium body, oily texture, average carbonation. Not my favorite saison, but different.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BBE Jul 17, from Alko, 20150927) The beer poured golden and hazy. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had fruitiness, spiciness, coconut and perfume. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were fruitiness, perfume, sweetness, coconut, malts, spiciness and bitterness. Aftertaste had fruitiness, pear and bitterness. A brew using hops I dislike. Fortunately the yeast used hid the most horrid features of that hops and left decently drinkable brew.

Standard longneck, snappy label. Misty blonde. Aroma was at first very sensuous -- biotic, yeasty, pronounced fruity esters. After sitting a bit, it turns ketonic pineapple. My first impression of the flavor was that of minerality followed by cheap perfume spilled on vinyl furniture covers. Medium body. Think I just don?t like the primary hop. It was a chore to drink. Sorry for dogging you out, Brooklyn. ABC Liquors, Betton.

750ml bottle (thanks mjs). Cloudy amber color. Huge size, fluffy white head, stays. Sour, orange peel, grainy, faint coconut, sweetish in aroma. Grainy, orange juice, citrus, sweet, aromatic coconut, pear, fruity in taste. Fruity orange peel and straw in aftertaste. Crisp mouthfeel. To be honest quite refreshing. Doesn’t say 7.6%. Pleasant brew.

750ml bottle - thanks mjs!
Pale orange, large frothy head. Eww coconut aroma. Some perfume. Tastes like a tart’s handkerchief. Gets way worse as it warms, gets oilier and oilier with coconut oil. Carbonation high, quite fizzy. Apple finish, even some pear. More pear later. Would probably have been OK without the sorachi ace, but then it would have been a different beer.
