COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

[For private use only.] Tastes like an average beer. Not very bitter or strong. Not a favorite, but not to bad.

Tap at Urban Deli as a part of the Brooklyn Mash-week. Clear and yellow with a fast dissipating head. Aroma is lite sweet and malty with earthy hops. Same in taste. Pretty refreshing and pairs well with light food.

APPEARANCE - darker than most summer ales. Dark golden. Head goes away in a flash. NOSE - very light notes of, well beer. Not picking up too much else. FLAVOR - good summer beer: refreshing, light flavor & ABV.

Bottle into pint glass, light amber-hued golden color with bright white head. Aroma notes of grainy/bready malt sweetness and light grass. Taste adds some toast and citrus/tropical fruity hops. Light-medium body, low carbonation, soft with faint citrus finish. Easy drinking but not memorable.

Has a malty aroma with some lemon. flavor is not very exciting. Not bad, but too many better summer ales, like Sam Adams.

Light golden body with patchy white head. Scents of barley, fresh grass, and lemon. Flavors are light citrus with some black pepper and herbal elements. Decent seasonal.

Not really showcasing any flavor nor any aspect of a summer ale. I think the brewer wanted to make something drinkable with some flavor but too simple. Not something I would try to find again but will drink it if offered.
