Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

Not sure what’s going on here. Had Brooklyn Light on tap at Divine Wine Bar in NYC. First is it Brooklyn Light or Brooklyn Summer? Second, Light beer from Brooklyn? Thrid, why am I even interested in drinking this one? Anyway, not bad for a light beer, but nothing I need to order again.

12oz bottle-pours a foamy off white head and gold color. Aroma is sweet/musty-grain/light malt, secondary (hallertau?) floral/spicy hops. Taste is sweet/musty-grain/light malt, secondary (hallertau?) floral/spicy hops, then some citrus-orange comes through. Mild carbonation. Thanks jwc215 for sharing.

12 oz. bottle - Pours a slightly hazy golden color with a half finger thick white head. Very light spotty lacing. Aroma is toasted grain and herbal hops. Flavor is lightly sweetened grain and just a hint of citrus (lemon). Palate has an edge to it. Light to medium body. A decent Blonde ale.

BB 12/07. Clear orange-golden with a medium head that lasts well and leaves some nice glass-frost. Aroma is sweet grain. Flavor is more dry and fruity, almost like a low-alcohol champagne, except with a grainy undertone and some hints of toasted malt. Great balance of sweet and dry. Body is light and tingly with carbonation, very nice summer beer.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

Sweet honey malt all over the palate. Definitely metallic at some points. A bit buttery. Doesn’t quite feel slick, but perhaps oily. Definitely wondering if that isn’t diacetyl I’m tasting. Hops are there but dull. Perhaps a good bit more hops could help balance the sweetness and the palate. Not terrible, just pretty average.

Gold yellow honey color, light carbinated feel. A crisp drink with a slight summer tang taste.

Gold color with small white head and some lacing. Aroma and flavor are both sweet with mostly a bitter hoppy flavor. Light and simple
