Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

Clean golden yellow with off white head. Hop malt aroma. Clean flavour that doens’t follow too closely to the aroma. The hop bitters are very light on the sides of my toungue. Leads to a fruity finish and not too watery on the palate.

Golden yellow with a white head. Aroma of lemon, apple, and light toast. Flavor is lightly lemony, with a very bready finish. Medium bodied.

Not as light and not as refreshing as adverstised. Tastes more like a ’Bitter’ than any ’Mild’ style they were going for here. I’ve have better offerings from Brooklyn

Bottle. Cosumed fresh at the beach with my Uncle Gaines, Aunt Nancy, Anna, Anna’s bf Ben, Matt boy, and Elvin. Shiloh, Leila, Jagger, and Savannah were there too, but they didnt drink any of the beer. This is an easy drinking summer ale. Crisp, slightly hoppy and bitter flavors. Slightly bready. Props to Brooklyn for not making something other than a sumer wheat beer.

Bottle. Pours a clear bubbly golden-orange with an average size lasting white head. Aroma of yeast, fruit (mostly citrus) and grassy hops. Slightly watery flavour of grass or hay, yeast, grain, light hops and a light bitter finish. Light to medium bodied. Nothing great but it’s very easy to drink and goes down in no time.
