Gold in color with a fairly big frothy white head. Malty, bready aroma. Flavor is predominantly malty wit hsome hops dashed in there, but with this interestingly dark spicy character ... alomost like toasted peppercorns. I dunno. If this had been a blind taste test, I would’ve guessed brown ale. Tasty little beverage at any rate. 00cobraR (1098), Greensboro, North Carolina, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 18, 2007 Not bad. Pours out a nice golden yellow color with a medium white head. Aroma is sort of sweet with a nice hint of citrus. Flavor was refreshing. As the beer warmed it became lack luster. Over all a solid session beer. hophead75 (1954), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 17, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours almost a clear light amber in color. the head is small and compact and quickly recedes. Aroma is sweet pale malt, some dry biscuity grain and light citrus andfloral hops. Taste: This beer has a nice body considering it’s low alcohol content. A nice dose of sweet pale malts along with a nice citrus hop balance consisting of grapefruit and orange. Well balanced- a solid summer ale. cheapdark (2016), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 17, 2007 12 oz brown bottle, wet raggy aroma when I pop the lid and when I pour it into my glass. Barely darker than a ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. No head but has some carbonation boiling within. Bitter at first but it fades immediately to a much smoother flavor, especially now that I see it is a blond. Interesting off heavy production that is not truly that light. Hay like aroma continues. Has a hoppy impact in the background but that does not overtake the brew, it is just there, not yelling at you. Yes, it does have a wet bready flavor, again not overwhelming, you just know it’s there. The olfactory eventually fades into a sweet honey candy perfume at the end. As good as Petes Wicked Rally Cap Ale and Rivertowne Babbling Blonde but certainly much better than Kochs Golden Anniversary Beer and Ballantine XXX Ale. Overall not bad, no bitternesss and pretty enjoyable. jblendy (518), Midland Park, New Jersey, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 16, 2007 Pours copper/golden with a large foamy white head. Light bready aroma, with just a bit of grassy hops. Flavor is as expected from the aroma, with barley and bready malts upfront leading into a grassy hoped finish. Palate is light and crisp, with a touch of lingering hops. Not a whole lot going on, but typical of the style, and extremely balanced. nick76 (2656), Tampa, Florida, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 16, 2007 The aroma is malty and biscuit like with a nice grassy hopping. The appearance is pale gold with a smaller head. The flavor is simple and like the aroma but good. The palate is typical for the style. One of the best Golden Ales that I have had. ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Faint sweet nose of wheat, apricots, biscuity malts, light spices and faint and candy sugar. Sharp and just barely acidic, overall a bit sweet and mild, with flavors of star anise and sweet grains, but again overall it’s a farily light beer. Nothing too exciting. | 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 15, 2007 Updated: Apr 7, 2008What’s shaking over at Casa de LaChaingangguy, you ask?! Why, its none other than Brooklyn’s Summer Ale!
Appearance: Pours a clear, light amber body with a thin, creamy white head.
Smell: Biscuity malt aroma with a good measure of citrus hops and a very subtle spiciness.
Taste: Biscuit maltiness with just a hint of sweetness. There’s also an extremely faint honeydew melon fruitiness to it as well as what tastes like a loving pinch of salt. The hops, as with everything else in this beer, are light and provide some lemony citrus in the softly bitter finish.
Mouthfeel: Light-bodied. Mild carbonation.
Drinkability: A light, refreshing beer that makes for fine summertime drinking.
