Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

Bottle. Aroma is spicy hops and pils malt. Beautiful clear not-quite-amber with a good bubbly white head. Light and very balanced with biscuity malt character and mild but firm hop presence. Dry. highly balanced, and drinkable, which is what the style aims for.

Pours a golden amber body and a barely off-white head with legs. Smells of hops and yeast. Flavor is a little bread, malt, orange zest, some yeast. Finish is clean and hopped nicely.

Golden pour with light white head. Yeasty aroma with notes of pear, apples, Flavor is lightly fruity with lots of yeast and a slightly bitter finish. The yeast notes in this beer is kind of weird. It’s ok, decent on a hot summer night when the air is broken.

12oz. Bottle: Aroma of skunk, vegetables, herbs, noble hops, wheat, and grains. Poured yellow/gold/apple juice in color with a small white head that lasted throughout as a film on top of the beer. Clear. Sparkling. Lightly sweet flavor. Tastes of wheat, vegetables, herbs, water, hops, light malts, and skunk. Light to medium body. Dry texture. Average carbonation. Skunk, herb, and vegetable finish is dry.

Light dinner ales, interesting never heard of that before. I was unimpressed, but maybe thats just me. My roommate called it smooth, I noted a slight bite at the end. Good flavors, but nothing was too strong.

Nice low carb, with a spicy apple flavor. A light sour taste to compliment the apples’ fruitiness without being sweet, nothing special.
