Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

On tap at the Beechtree. Pours a clear gold with a thin white head. Light wheat aromas, and a bit of sweet wheat fruitiness. Medium carbonation, sweet, more wheaty fruit, and a touch of lemon. Finishes with more wheat, and a bit of grain. Metallic finish.

Nose is earthy hops and bread and lemon. Taste is wheat, citrus, and yeast. Unmemorable.

Clear pale yellow, w no real head... lemony slightly hoppy decent aroma... Flavor has an initial hoppiness that is nice but ends in a malty finish that lingers while being slightly dry...

Brooklyn Summer Ale is a very clear light golden ale with a thin white ring of a head. It has a fruity, wooden hop aroma, with a note of lemon. It is light, fluffy and crisp in the mouth. It has a boozy taste. It’s lightly bitter, with notes of lemon and light grain. It seems a little strong for a summer ale.

Pours golden with a white, fizzy head. Smell is wheat, whipped whites and grassy hops. Taste is grassy, metallic and with mild malt sweetness. Kind of an egg white like flavor as well. Medium to thin body with crisp carbonation. So so beer with some flaws, but its drinkable.

Pours a refreshing gold with thin white head. Aroma hard to place, but definitely bread/biscuit, wheat, grass, with ever so slight hops. Flavor is similar, refreshing, but nothing very memorable. Mouthfeel is a bit too slick for my taste out of a gold/blonde.

For a summer lawn mower brew it is quite good. It has a bready flavor. It is light and crisp a good beer for a hot day. Hops are mild and a little thin bodied to be my regular beer.
