Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

Poured golden with a thin, bubbly head. Sweet aroma. Taste is hard to pinpoint – oranges, wheat. Dry finish. Mediocre.

Robe blonde bien dorée, belle mousse blanche.

Draft served in a flight at The Casual Pint - Oakley Station. Pours a clear bright gold with a white sheet of film atop the liquid and lace along the sides. Not a whole lot here - straw, lemon zest, cracker, sugar, and grass. Light-bodied, with medium carbonation and a bright, clean mouthfeel. Cans of this would be crushable all day.

Light, fruity aroma with some citrus and biscuit malts. A bit fruity flavor, some sweetness, bitter finish. Notes of blue raspberry candy. Bright and summery in flavor, but very boring. Still better than industrial lagers.

Tap@ O’Malley’s Vaasa. Poured golden, deep, thin white head. Aroma has malts, some earthy notes, old hops. Flavor has grains, hops, floral notes. Boring.

Rating #1170, flaske fra Netto Nakskov

En gylden øl med stort medium holdbart skum. Duft af smør og let humle. Smagen er let med smør og lidt krydret humle. Medium bitterhed. Let alkohol i eftersmagen. Forfriskende og lidt kedelig. Medium tykkelse og tyngde.

Doughy, bready, caramel malts, light bitterness, somewhat generic profile. Pitched to me as its label would indic ate: a beer that isn’t trying to do much. Success! Bottle.
