Commercial Description:
Brooklyn Summer Ale is a modern rendition of the "Light Dinner Ales" brewed in England throughout the 1800's right up until the 1940's. They were also called "luncheon ales" or even "family ales", because they were refreshing and flavorful without being too heavy. We brew our Brooklyn Summer Ale from premium English barley malt, which gives this light-bodied golden beer a fresh bready flavor. German and American hops lend a light, crisp bitterness and a citrus/floral aroma resulting in a beer with a very sunny disposition. FOOD PAIRING Excellent with salads, seafood, quiches, and lightly spicy dishes. It's also great at a brunch. SPECS Style: English Style Light Dinner Ale Malts: Two Row British Malts Hops: German Perle and American Cascade, Fuggle, and Amarillo Alcohol: 4.5% by volume Original Gravity: 11 Plato

Nice light refreshing summer ale. It’s got a subtle citrusy sweetness balanced with a nice bitter finish.

"Pale golden color with a good sized white crown. I can’t explain it but this beer looks empty and I can’t explain how it looks empty it just looks empty. Dull hop aroma with bruised banana, and dark wheat this smells ok I guess it’s just not appealing to me. The flavor is very watery and empty, dark wheat, melon, banana, and a massively dry finish. I guess this a very drinkable yard work beer but I just found it to watered down and unexciting but it was still complex…….how very odd."

Brooklyn Summer Ale is a very clear light golden ale with a thin white ring of a head. It has a fruity, wooden hop aroma, with a note of lemon. It is light, fluffy and crisp in the mouth. It has a boozy taste. It’s lightly bitter, with notes of lemon and light grain. It seems a little strong for a summer ale.

12 oz. single bottle from Total Wine in Huntersville, NC. Pours a moderate gold color with an off white head. Aroma is grassy, a wheat and orange citrus nose. Taste is delightfully refreshing, a bit of malts and a bit of citrus to close out the beer. I liked this one, and would buy it again.

Pours a clear gold in color with a nice, pillowy two inches of head. Smell is lemon zest and light, crisp malt. There is some definite lemon in the taste. Bubbly and biting on the mouthfeel. Not a bad summer ale. Looking for something to stand out, but it’s not there.

This beer pours a nice head with a golden color to it. It was pored into a pilsner glass with good head retention. It has the smell of flowers and mild hops as well as some malt. The taste is some what smooth with hints of floral flavors and mild malt. there is not much bite though. It is kind of like a pilsner but with out the bite at the end.

Pours a transparent golden colour with a finger thick frothy head that retains well and fades to a cap. Leaves good lacing. The aroma is of floral hops, slight barnyard, and a bit of fermenting vegatable (ugh). The flavour is lightly malty, bitter metallic and citrus hops. The aftertatse is very zesty and dry. The palate us tingly without being harsh and light bodied, making it easy to slug after a vigorous summer workout. A quenching and very crisp summer ale I found to be very suitable for the hotter months.
