3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Rastacouere (5920) - Montréal, - AUG 11, 2008
Clear straight, not very bright golden pour. Initially beautiful white head quickly vanishes completely, leaving a highly effervescent liquid in the glass. Fresh malt aroma immediately evokes fresh bread. Minimal citrusy hop notions provide very little bitterness. Not necessarily very sweet, but definitely on the malty side of things. A very soft malt profile aimed fits the summer allusions very well. Medium bodied, gentle carbonation. Clean and very easy to drink, but not fun or remarkable enough to want another and another like the top English examples.

Aroma is grassy with a hint of spices. The flavor is grainy/grassy and beery, with a medium bitter finish.

Toasty light grain aroma. Herbal hop and a little spicy on the finish. Pours a really light golden color. Good representation but nothing incredibly unique or earth shattering.
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 Foffern (285) - Bergen, NORWAY - MAY 26, 2012
Bottle at home. Has a clear orange-yellow colour, and with a rather large head that looks very much of egg white in colour and appearance. The aroma is like a British golden ale with its fruitiness and dryness. I sence peaches, dry hay, sweet corn and some hops. The flavour is slightly sweeter with a mixture of fruits and berries. Dry is also the aftertaste with a hint of nuts. Feels soft and smooth in the mouth, but with a rather low bitterness. This is an okay golden ale, and easy-drinking in the warm weather. Since it was British inspired, I had expected more bitterness.

Bottle, at Patricks. It pours a crystal clear, dark golden body under a dense, finger thick white head. Nice lacings. There’s some citrus in the aroma, a hint of melon and pineapple, and a little caramel maltyness. Flavorwise it’s much the same, but the caramel feels a little bit butterscotch-ish. Some grainy hints, and in my opinion, not enough bitterness. Medium body, lightly carbonated. A decent beer indeed, but in my book it’s not a summer ale. 120523
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 rangerred (335) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - MAY 23, 2012
Had on tap in a pint glass.
Arrived with a clear light gold body and a one finger head.
Aroma of toffee and some roasted malt along with earthy hops.
The flavor has more roast than I thought it would. Caramel and toffee are present along with a hop flavor that reminded me of we leaves. There is a slight metallic flavor that detracts a little bit. Body is pretty good for a lighter beer.
Overall, a good offering from Brooklyn that is a great thirst quencher.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 larsga (4655) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 18, 2012
Biggish offwhite head. Clear golden body with carbonation.
Tropical fruit and resin aroma with strawy dusty notes.
Dry-sweet strawy resiny taste with papery notes. Mid-bodied.
Mild, soft mouthfeel. Dryish dusty strawy aftertaste with papery
notes. It could be really good, but has a bit too much paper in
the flavour, killing the freshness that’s almost there. Makes me
wonder if it tastes better closer to the source. (0.33l bottle, a
gift.)
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 banii (49) - Trondheim, NORWAY - MAY 16, 2012
Bottle for reviewing from the importer. Had it straight from the bottle, for that true summer experience (or just because i was thirsty while cooking food), so i dont know much about how it looks in a glass, but the bottle has some nice colors, thats something. Aroma of weak citrus, old grass and some apple juice. Tastes of mild malts, apples and some yeast. Quite weak. I would imagine this is for the "summer restaurants" in Norway, for the non-beerfreeks that want to look trendy. Cant imagine it selling in the Wine-monopoly. Not worth busting your balls to taste, but still decent. Needs more Amarillo!
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 espenra (665) - Kurland, NORWAY - MAY 14, 2012
33cl bottle at Håndverkerstuene. Best before 2012-03. Colour is classic lager; slight pale golden colour with a minimal head. Aroma is grassy with notes of malts, bread and some yeast. Flavour is bitter with notes of water, bread yeast and grass. Some faint hints of yeast. A good replacement for more boring lagers and on the warm summer days.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 MatSciGuy (893) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - MAY 13, 2012
[Can] Pours a clear straw gold color with a medium, fluffy white head. Aroma is light, yeasty, sweetish pale malt, a little aluminum, and grassy hops. The flavor is pretty strange. The yeast comes across as lager. The body is really thin, the malt flavor is really grainy, and the hops are faded. This was quite a disappointment.
