3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This is an odd one, I guess a wheat wine more than a barley wine? Pours dark golden/light amber without much head. Nose of grain and summer fruits. Some butterscotch, which is also present on the taste. Pleasantly sweet, but heavy and not amazingly complex.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Draft at The Blue Monkey in Merchantville, NJ.
Pours a dark golden orange, almost copper color with a one finger foamy white head that slowly settles into a lasting cap. Rings and streaks of lacing left behind.
Slightly earthy aroma with some zesty spice and light fruit notes. Floral and perfume like with hints of pepper and faint hops as well as some apricot and other light fruit.
Medium bodied with a strong spice presence up front that lingers into the finish. Slight creamy texture mid palate with sweet boozy alcohol and light fruit notes. Hints of apricot and light berries give a sweetness that somewhat counters the spice but overall they dominate the flavor and you can taste all of the 10%. Still somewhat drinkable but a bit one dimensional and boozy.

2.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tap. Not as big and hoppy as other Barleywines. Still boozy. Basically, reminds me of scotch. I like scotch.
Addition- the more I drink it the more the sweetness builds up. Becomes heavy and cloying. (Down from original 3.3.)

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: OCT 23, 2011 Location: Draft at the Brewery, 10/22/11
Aroma: This one has a fairly sweet nose made up of wheat, candy, and fruit
Appearance: It pours a clear golden orange color with a lasting white head
Flavor: This one has a fairly sweet flavor as well, similar to the nose, and light bitter
Palate: A crisp and clean feel, with a medium body, average carbonation, and noticeable, light heat
Interesting stuff for sure. Easy drinking for sure. I enjoyed this one. A nice effort at a Wheat Wine for Brooklyn.
