The floor malts give this beer a juicy malt character of considerable depth, 55% malted wheat gives it a surprising lightness on the palate, while our house ale yeast lends a gentle fruitiness. The Oxford Companion will impart knowledge, while The Companion imparts conviviality. Maybe you really can have it all?

Light yellow. Aroma is spicy, honey, thin wheat. Taste is the same. This is just not a style I can get behind yet.

On tap at the Parker Pie Company. Dark amber with off white head. Wheat, alcohol, sauvignon blanc, light malt, some barley. Moderate carbonation, light body, prickly, sweet with a bit of odd tartness, also some anise and an odd but hard to identify after taste.

Growler. Pours clear, bright orange, with a small light tan head. Aromas of cherry, grass, honey, mild bubblegum, wheat, and caramel. The flavor is mild caramel and slight buttery cherry; some bitter grass, plenty of malt, and some hot alcohol in the finish. Light buttery aftertaste. Good. [941]

(sample at the 2012 Boston Beer Summit Winter Jubilee) really a wheat wine not a barley wine. I’m not a huge wheat beer fan, but this was excellent. Deep gold/amber with white head. Wheat/yeast aroma. Rich malt/yeast flavors with Belgian yeast. Dry finish. There was some flavor I couldn’t quite identify that really nailed it.

Draft at Jerry’s. Golden with fair, creamy, white head / Clean, resinous, almost medicinal, nose / Medium to full body, hint of sweetness, grain-lager character, with moderately dry, hot, finish / Chemical flavors of smoke, grain, resin, and honey / Poor. Drinks more like an imperial pils.

Fairly clear golden amber with small white head leaves minor lacing.... Sweet dry spicy aroma, reminds me more of a Belgian strong golden than a barley wine... Dry strong medium full bodied, a little anise, alcohol aroma and taste, light vanilla kinda bland alc is present

On tap at Petrol Station. Pours a slightly hazy cider color with a chestnut hue and an off-white head that dissipates completely. Aroma is full of light but sweet fruit backed by caramel and a slight hint of flora. Flavor is quite sweet as well with sweet fruit and grains with a hint of floral bitterness in the finish.

On tap at Sweetgrass Grill while wasting time during oil change. Pours gold with white head. Tastes of tropical fruit candy, citrus, wheat slight booze. Not what I was expecting from this one
