2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Map Room, small sample. Pours a light golden, small white head. Aroma of super sweet cloying candy sweet and odd herbal tea spice. Flavor, just as crazy spice herbal tea cough drop for sure with the honey and the ginger is just so odd. Finishes, well still odd, herbal tea and spice. Medium body and a sharp carbonation. Reminds me of the cold I had when I was sucking down honey lemon cough drops. Not right for a beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draught at TJ’s: Aroma of malt, ginger, lemon, and light smoke. Poured amber in color, with a medium-sized, creamy, dense, tan/beige head that lasted throughout. Hazy. Slightly sparkling. Excellent lacing. Flavor is lightly sweet and slightly bitter. Tastes of medicine, herbs, eucalyptus, slight mint, lemon, ginger, slight smoke, aloe, band-aid, and a hint of hops. Flavor is very strange and different. Medium body. Lightly dry texture. Average carbonation. Odd, lightly sweet, medicine, herb, lemon, eucalyptus finish.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at milltown. Interesting brew with an interesting story behind it. Smokey with lemon is how I would describe it. Pretty nice.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
On tap; pour is murky gold with a modest white head that retains fairly well, with spotty, sticky lacing in this tulip. This brew is herbal, medicinal, spicy, and citrusy on the nose. The flavor profile is killing me; the peat smoked malt is utterly ridiculous with the rest of it; I get the lemon rinds, ginger, and honey. I also ultimately hate this beer. Thanks, Brooklyn.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap. Very different. Pours an orange color with a foamy off white head. Notes of ginger, vinyl, lemon juice, smoke, and bread dough. Lively mouthfeel. I enjoyed it. Points for being different.

1.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 2/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 4/20
(Draught) Pours a hazy burnt orange body with a small off-white head. Aroma of spruce, sulfur, peat, mint, chemicals, lemon grass, and honey. Flavor of honey, aspirin, smoked paprika, sulfur, smoke/peat, spruce, grass, ginger, and lemon. What were they thinking? I generally like Brooklyn beers, but this of the more offensive beer “concoctions” I have tried in some time.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap for growler fills at Half Time. Pours a lightly hazed orange with a thin to medium sized beige head. Smoke, light lemon, citrus zest, floral notes, touches of ginger. Zesty, and spicy. Messy, but it’s not terrible. Nowhere near the messy level of say Sam Adams WTF, which though the beer is not very similar, was the first thing that popped into my head. Too much stuff going on here. Smoky, lemony, lemongrass and floral flavors all trying to coexist, but coming off a bit too conflicted. Certainly an interesting beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
tap at hopcat. one of the most interesting beers i have had the pleasure of trying. i rarely feel this way, considering how homogenous "big" beers have become. golden amber with small head. aroma is both sweet and spicy, yet smoky and savory. interesting and very nice. flavor is peaty and smoke-filled, tart and sweet, with honey and some foliage. its like drinking a mead mixed with bog water....and somehow this is a good thing...refreshing
