BottleÖ Lightly hazed amber ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Great retention. The nose is an odd marriage of light smoked malt, raw ginger root and an unused bandage. Medium-bodied with modest carbonation. The flavor is just a sweet, gingery mess with a grassy, herbal finish. Not at all good, but I finished the entire pint because Iím a freaking trooper and thatís how I roll.

What a effing mess. Thick white head and nice colour, but a nose of urine or cigar ash. How did this make it to the public?

On draft at Coffee District. I asked the bartender what he thought of this beer and he said "Iím not a fan". Do I usually follow the advice of a bartender? No, but I was still a bit curious. He gave me a small sample anyways. Slight lemon lime aroma with a slight ginger type flavor. It didnít really strike me as a great/good beer. Iíll pass next time.

Smells earthy, slightly like poop. Very medicinal flavor with thick sweet mouthfeel...maybe from the honey. Very strange stuff. Couldnít picture drinking a full pint of it.

Sample at Brew Kettle on 10/7/11. Clear amber pour with a medium off-white head. Smoky aroma with some spice and citrus. Sweet malt and honey flavor, followed by a smoky and spicy finish. Interesting concept, but not something I enjoy drinking all that much.

Serving glass: Poured from tap into small glass.
Appearance: Hazy honey gold with thick white head and light lacing.
Aroma: Lemon, ginger, smoke and an odd medicinal cast.
Taste: Very medicinal, with ginger, peat and lemon. Interesting, odd and slightly unpleasant. Yet I keep sipping. Whatever.
Palate: Moderate carbonation, medium body, odd finish.
Overall: A strange but ultimately failed experiment. I really wanted to like this more.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Tasted in April, 2011 on draft at Local Option. Pours hazy golden, with a very thick white head, that leaves thin, even lace after a slow recession. The nose is ginger, lemon-lime citrus, honey, and some lightly spicy notes. The flavor is honey, ginger, and citrus, with lightly spicy and bitter flavors on the back of the palate. The body is full and oily with average, but very smooth carbonation, and a long ginger and honey finish.
