Bottle, 75cl corked, served by the brewer, at Copenhagen Beerfestival. A hazy, orange-golden beer with a rather small, off-white head. Bretty nose with citrus, spices, herbs, wheat and fruityness. Thereís a little sweetness in the mouth, but itís more on the bretty, barnyardy sour side, with some herbs and spices as well. Smooth mouthfeel. Finishes with barnyard, fruitynes and a spicy touch. A nice brett-infused beer, still maintaining itís original flavors. (090517)

Thanks to Garrett Oliver for bringing these to St. Stephenís Green in Philly during a recent beer dinner. Pours a hazy dark golden orange with lighter golden burnt orange hues when held to a light source and a two finger frothy off-white head that slowly settles into a lasting ring. Sporadic spots of lacing are left behind. Slightly funky, dry earthy brett aroma with lots of estery Belgian yeast producing some nice crisp golden fruit notes. Hints of slight barnyard funk, apple, cherry, strawberry and cream, pear and subtle peppery spice. Smells like a slightly bretty funky tripel with a nice bit of bready yeast and estery fruit notes. Dry earthy, funky medium body with a nice amount of tartness up front and a bretty funk dryness thatlingers throughout over a estery Belgian yeast body with crisp fruit notes into a subtle dry finish with slight alcohol warmth. Lots of estery fruit notes and spicy peppery notes. Alcohol presence is noticeable but not too much so, making this very drinkable. The brett character is prominent enough to add a delicious earthy funkiness but itís not too sour, acidic or overpowering and you can still taste the flavors of the original beer.

Bottle at Hopcat, opened for a handful of us at the bar during RBSG. Pours a murky gold with a fizzy head. Nose is immediately vanilla bourbon, tropical Brett notes, funk. Also get some marshmallow and herbal notes. On taste, round body the has a prickly-ness coming across. A lot of Bourbon competing with the mild Brett notes. Some light candi sugar and more tropical fruit. Finishes dry. Interesting.

A little pre-lunch taste at HopCat before going on a cellar tour. Hazy golden pour with a thick white head. The nose is softly spicy with a kiss of light bretty minerality. A touch of honey and light lemon peel as well. Soft hoppiness with a little bit of brett character. It still has the honeyish palate of the regular local 1 coming through. Soft and chewy with a lightly lingering herbal character. A bit of soft yeasty spice on the finish. Itís pretty tasty, but the "wildness" is pretty subdued. A little bit of light tartness on the finish.
