COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
There was a time when all beers were aged in wood and yeasts ran wild and converted together. Modern brewing is wonderful, but sometimes a little converting is a fine thing. Brooklyn Wild Streak is our barrel-aged Belgian-inspired golden ale enlivened by the earthy funk of wild yeast called Brettanomyces. It’s particurly great with cheeses and game meats. Oh, go ahead. You know you want to.

750ml bottle shared by jsprime. Golden with a small white head. Bretty and tangy. The barrel is there too but overall the beer is to hot. Not very good but not terrible.

Ohh man, where to start with this one. Pours orange gold, minimal head. Earthly musky nose. Light sour taste, generally sweet with mud and other earthly qualities. Medium body.

Bottle. Pours a hazy amber color with a small off-white head. Has a fruity malty woody bretty spicy citrus aroma. Fruity malty woody bretty flavor. Has a fruity malty woody spicy weak sour finish.

Bottle, caged & corked. Pours a shade of golden-orange, the thin head a resilient colony of tightly clustered white bubbles. The aroma is a bit of sour mash with a hint of musty oranges. At first sample, I don’t get much of any over-the-top character. Instead, this develops as a very subtly assembled lightly charactered ale, with just whispers of funk, ripe fruit, and the barest hint of some whiskey. Decent, but not worth the price I paid for this bottle. (#5572, 7/5/2014)

Bottle @ Presidential Suite. Thanks to me for wasting too much money on this garbage. Pours a hazy gold color with a tall white head. Really grass and banana forward. Some sugary canned pear, orange peel, and yeast. Flavor is more sweet than sour. Kind of leathery and boozy, as well. Lots of canned fruit/corn syrup and citrus peel. Somewhat heavy on the banana.

750 ml bottle shared at the Presidential Suite at RBSG. Someone didn’t get the memo about malt liquor night. Anyway, this one pours a hazy pale gold with a white head. Notes of straw, farmhouse and bretty funk, pale and bready malts, booze, pear, oak, vanilla. Medium-bodied, with medium carbonation and a dry, boozy, funky mouthfeel. Interesting attempt, but this mostly didn’t work well for me.

Hazy golden color with a thick white head. Aroma is slight grape and a touch of banana. Slightest hint of bourbon. Flavor is sweet with a bit of oak. Bourbon flavor is present but understated. It is missing the tartness you’d expect from a sour ale. Pretty good though. Wife: 3.7

Bottle shared in the Petey Hale Rake Dungeon. Pours a decent hazy amber hue, a firm haziness with gentle orange glow. Frothy whitish head dies to a nice filmy layer, sticks around and laces small. Aromas are pineapple, gentle bready malt, a touch of earth, some touches of oak, vanillin and mellow funk. Initial is a middling body with some pineapple juice, touches of bread, touches of gentle lemon with mellow apple, decent pear. Some funkiness, yeasty elements, smoothed out. A bit bready some cobwebs and gentle citrus, pear and mellow bread. Some yeastiness, gentle vanilla. A bit of funk, cobwebs and yeastiness. Solid, but a bit underwhelming.

Bottle - 750mL corked and caged. Blend #5. Hazy amber with a short white head. Aroma is coconut, soft vanilla, funky yeast notes, sweet malt, toffee, booze, caramel and fruit. Taste is fruity with big vanilla, sweet malt, caramel, toasted coconut and toffee notes. Boozy as well with soft carbonation and light warmth. Soft funkiness during the finish along with sweet malt, caramel, coconut, booze, fruit and sweet malt notes.

750ml corked and caged bottle. Sour grape juice, earthiness, not a solid sour.
