COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We brew Brooklyn Winter Ale from heirloom Maris Otter malts to create a beer with roots in blustery Scotland. Brooklyn Winter Ale is richly malty, aromatic, full-bodied and perfect with stews, roasts and holiday dishes.

Dark amber pour, very light head. Aroma and taste is malty with a slight hop finish. Spice notes throughout and just a bit sweet. Not bad, but better winter brews.

Bottle, stable creamy head with a bit of lacing, deep burgundy red to brown and a touch hazy, aroma of dark bread, yeast and vanila, with a whiff of charred wood, flavour of dark chocolate, dark fruits and charred wood with some alcohol coming to the fore with almost no presence of hops, inspite of the alcohol the beer is quite smooth, light but long dried fruits finish. Nice to sip and quite well made, but not too exciting.

MEH! malty hay like flavors remind me of grain water with very little hop presence and not a smooth pleasant drinker. Not a fan.

Dark amber color with a small cream head. Smells of caramel malts and faint spices. Taste like sweet roasted malts and a hint of spices and brown sugar. Med carbonation. After taste is a little soapy, but not really unpleasant to me. An easy to drink brew, but I don’t know if I can call it a "Scottish Ale".

Keg at Brooklyn night at North Bar, Leeds. Pours a copper brown that seems to change in the oight, small head. Aroma is yeasty, spicy, malt and coriander. Taste is interesting, a little creamy, with spicy notes, coriander and very nice malt. Long, pleasant creamy-ish finish. Nice winter ale, but there are others I prefer.

Bottle from the grocery store. Dark brownish red colored pour with a tan head. Smell is sweet and has a little bit of hops to it. Rich full malty flavor. Sweet and pretty easy to drink, but more than one makes me somewhat queasy. Belch.

Pours a deep brown with a slight blood red tinge and a low, light tan, flimy head. Aroma has a light spicy note with modest roasted notes and some light scotch/whiskey notes. Flavor has a strong Maris Otter malt toasted front with a sweet, slightly tart prune fruitiness too it. Body is hefty and slightly oily from the residual sugar with very, very low fine carbonation. Overall a pretty good winter brew that isn’t over spiced and is pretty well balanced.
