Pours a nice dark amber with moderate head. Aroma of roasted malt and nuts. Flavor is malty and sweet with a strange, astringent aftertaste that isn’t entirely pleasant. Not their best offering.

Draft. Brown with nice lacing. Cola and artificial cream soda aromas. Flavors of bubblegum powder on the outside of bazooka and lavender. Quite disappointing.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DruncanVeasey (5145) - NUNEATON, Blue Square Prem, Warwickshire, ENGLAND - JAN 2, 2012
Tap at the brewery, 17/12/11. Mahogany with a thin cream lid. Light vegetal matter, nuttiness, Minstrels aroma. Alcohol showing; weak squashy dried fruits, fig. Dab of walnut-like oiliness, fizzed up. Slight and pleasant....but more significantly, I have finally, unknowingly netted the Nessie of beer styles- A SCOTTISH ALE!!! Seriously, WTF? If this is a Scottish I’ve tasted thousands.

Long Island, NY - poured into a lager glass from a growler. Pours a hazy brown with moderate layer of golden bubbles. Aroma is of roasted malt and a slithering of winter spices. I can sense nutmeg and other spices. Initial taste buds into a malty mix and runs into a bitter end with the nutmeg. A nice production from Brooklyn brewery.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20 bcromwellsmith (5) - , New York, USA - DEC 31, 2011 does not count
Nice dark amber color with a decent head that quickly fades. Slightly hoppy aroma, but more sour than hops, earthy tones. Carbonation is light - it has a nice feel on my tongue. The taste is pleasant but non-descrept. A little sour, a little hops but also a little boring. This is a fine beer, very drinkable, but I would not go out of my way to find it (not that it is hard to find in the greater NYC area).

Dark amber colour. Off-white head. Lively condition. Some light spices o the nose. Also some caramel. More of the same on the palate. A little sweet on the palate. Quite tasty.
