This one poured a light red with an off white head. Aroma was caramel, light toast and some spoiled water. Flavor was light metalic, toasted malt, caramel and some grassy hops.

I've amber color and a bit fizzy in the palate. Nice taste but I've had much better of this style. - Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Poured a mahogany color with a two-finger beige head. Aroma is caramel, cereal, hay, and a very faint vanilla. Taste is medium sweetness, lightly bitter, and a lingering salty sweet on the tongue. Overall, its easy to drink, not offensive, and nothing special.

Bottle from Fyne Wines, Argyll. Light intensity of aromas but with obvious notes of yeast-extract - bovril/marmite, and subtle hints of sweetness - possibly dried-figs or banana-bread. The sweetness is more obvious on the palate though this dries almost instantly from chocolate-toffees to cinnamon and walnuts, and offers a very short finish with only a delicate lingering of fresh wholegrain toast. Flavourful, but is either under-spiced or is a new, elegant take on the seasonal winter ale.

355ml bottle from Good Spirits Company, Glasgow (6.1% abv on the label) - clear amber brown, thin lively cream head, sweet malty aroma, no lacing, sweet malty flavour, fairly high carbonation,

Bottle @Mother-in-laws, pours dark Amber/brownish red. Not a great deal on the nose other than hint of sweetness and you get a sweetish taste to it straight away. A hint of spices on the finish.

Attractive deep amber color out of the bottle with the smallest of off white heads. Sweet and nutty nose. Caramel sweetness with some light toast, some earthy tones and a hint of fruit.

Nose is malt, hazelnut, earth. Taste is malt, nuts, some cereal a little spice in a very short finish. Mouthfeel is thin, but with a pleasing warmth. Pretty bland stuff, Id not bother again, it is not a scottish ale, its a bitter.
