3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a clear dark amber body with a one finger tight bubbled beige head that had pretty good retention. The nose is all about the malt, toasty and slightly sweet with some dark fruits and burnt caramel. The flavor is equally all about the malt as well, a bit on the sweeter side with some rich dark fruit and a light hint of bitterness on the late finish. Medium bodied with a bit of clinginess and fizzy spritzy carbonation. Not bad, and actually pretty good amongst it cohorts in the style.

3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at Cheeseburger in Paradise. Was served Ice cold in a frosty glass and was very refreshing and tasty. Enjoyed it much more than most I have had from Brooklyn Brewery.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Iím drinking this because it is a Scottish ale. It may have its roots in blustery Scotland but it has its present in Malt City. I havenít got a holiday dish. This is ok, malty, caramel.

2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A murky brown color with a beige head. Aroma contains some caramel, brown sugar, and must. The flavor is malty with some sour notes. Iím getting some caramel, biscuit, citrus. The aftertaste is somewhat sour with a malty caramel presence. They do better. Bleh.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Aroma has some oaky malt. A little tinge of whiskey and a faint hint of cinnamon or something. Average carbonation. Pours clear copper, slick palate. Taste has boozy bitterness. Bottle from Smoke it here in San Juan.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Aroma of sweet malty notes predominates with a few spicy notes. Flavour has a slight metallic edge over a pleasant maltiness. Body is pretty thin for a winter ale.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
It poured a brown color with some light reddishness around the edges of the beer. The head is small and has a sort of creamish color to it. The lacing is spotty and ringy. It leaves a thicker foamy look where it is sipped. The smell is the malts. There is just a bit of caramel in the background. The finish has a bit of alcohol and toffee in it. The palate is medium bodied with a moderate carbonation and fairly drinkable and smooth. Overall, this is good for its style and good for me.
