Moghgany in color with a thin bone color head. lacing was minimal but there. A nice malty aroma with caramel notes. Some malty notes on the inital flavor but finished with a hoppy but. Some spice to it. good but nothing special.

Pours a clear brownish color with a head that starts out fluffy but dies down to film before too long. You can tell that this one is going to be on the sweet side of things from the first sniff. Hints of plum and cherry in the aroma. Sweet fruity flavor is easy to down but does seem a bit thin. I may have made a mistake pairing this one with fried chicken.

Dark ruby red. No head. Aroma is ripe fresh fruit. Body is a touch light for a winter warmer. Smooth fruity and clean. Different than I expected, but decent.

Bottled "Winter Ale," 6% ABV - medium amber pour, with barely any head - medium sweet, bready aroma, with hints of chocolate and caramel, with slight earthy notes and a touch of smoke - the flavor is malt-forward, with a bread-and-honey sweetness, coupled with some root vegetables/earthiness - no real "spices" detected - medium-bodied, with a yeasty quality I’m not experienced enough to place, but one I associate with New England breweries (ie. Magic Hat) - very subtle alcohol warmth in the finish - not too shabby, but not one I’ll be buying another sixer of.

Pours out a clear amber color with a thin quickly fading off white head. Aroma is of some spice, but not that powerful. The taste is strange, but has a lot going on. Caramel, chocolate, toasted malt, spice, pepper and some earthy notes. Interesting

I stumbled upon this beer at Jungle Jim’s. Apparently this is the first year that the Brooklyn Winter Ale has been available in Ohio. Very exciting since I haven’t heard of this particular brew from one of my favorite micro breweries. -- Brooklyn Winter Ale pours a darker amber color and is quite clear. Visible carbonation is mild and there there is a creamy light brown head/crown that is retained for quite some time and leaves very dense and detailed lacing on the glass. The aroma is rich, malty, and has a caramel nose to it. Initially the aroma reminded me of a very weak Guinness, but as the beer warms up, more caramel and toffee-like aroma comes out. The flavor is very malty (caramel/toffee), moderately sweet, and hints of some darker roasted malt around the fringe. A little alcohol flavor, some weak bitterness, and a hint of some sort of herbal quality come out in the lingering malty finish. This beer feel rich and full and is super smooth and creamy. This is a pretty good Scottish-style Ale. Very good on a cold day like today! -- 12 oz bottle (Best before APR 07) from Jungle Jim’s.

Pours an amber with an off-white head. The aroma is thick maltyness, with a spicy aspect, minty and peppery. The body is a bit viscous. Slightly roasted aspect in the malt. Thick creamy body with a light spicyness, peppery alcohol touch, caramel like background and has a balanced hop bitterness.

Bottle. Dark copper or mahogany with deep ruby red edges. Light is able to pass through this, however. Nose is bready, but sweet. Some coffee cake, caramel, sweet malts, light custard, perhaps. This is rather tasty. Slightly toasty bread notes, some caramel, soft spices, sweet malts, cocoa and watery flavored coffee. There a medium feel to this with a fine carbonation tingle to it. Finishes with more cocoa, some chocolate donut, light spices, toasty malts, some caramel and maybe even a touch of grassiness. Nice stuff!
